The album cover just screams FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!! It's different but i like it. The Paul Romano artwork was cool but it was time for something different..

Disappointed that Romano didn't do the art, but as long as the music's good, who cares?

Definitely a departure from Romano's work, but I like it. That is actually a wood sculpture, which makes it all the more impressive. As someone pointed out already though, it's all about the music, and Mastodon hasn't dissapointed yet.

Idon't care much for the art work but whatever as long as the music kills it will be fine.

Dig this. I love the more melodic Mastodon. Probably won't mesmerize me like Crack the Skye, but what will?

i'm on the fence about the new one. it seems a little middling for them. it almost feels like a b-side or a transitory album track. it's an odd choice for the single. it's not bad or anything it's just a kinda meh. hopefully the rest of the album is more like Black Tongue.

Yeah, I like it alright, but Mastodon has set the bar pretty high for themselves so I was looking forward to something crazy. I'm getting the impression that they are leaning much more towards straight up heavy rock on this record as opposed to metal or prog. Still, though, there are a lot of songs left to be heard and the few people on their forums who have heard the whole thing had nothing but positive things to say.

I think they've mentioned in interviews that this record would be a little different than past ones, as in not being tied to one storyline or theme, more like just a collection of songs. I'm still looking forward to this motherfucker.

It's alright...I think it's missing the twists and turns of Blood Mountain and the epic-ness of Crack the Skye.
