I will be watching this!

Quote:
Set in the 1860s at the beginning of reconstruction, the series follows Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier, who is determined to exact revenge on the Union soldiers who murdered his wife. His quest for vengeanace sends him westward to Nebraska's "Hell on Wheels," the lawless towns that move with the construction of the transcontinental railroad. However, things get complicated when a Cheyenne tribe attacks the construction of the railroad, determined to destroy the project because it is being built through their lands.

I've been looking for something to fill the void since I finished Deadwood.

I ashamed to say it but I've never seen a clip of Deadwood yet. I have been wanting to.

I can't imagine this holding a candle to Deadwood.

Does the emoticon shake its head at the obviousness of my claim, or because it foolishly believes, despite the constraints of basic cable and inferior writers, this will be more than capably entertaining?

Maybe he just doesn't want you to jump to conclusions? Afterall, AMC has a good track record.

But that's exactly what I'm doing (i.e. jumping to conclusions)!

Did you not like Deadwood? I think it's one of the strongest series HBO did (despite not getting a proper ending).

And I don't think, based on the previews we've seen, that Hell on Wheels will be as complex, because David Milch isn't helming the project. I'd say concluding this will be as good as Deadwood is more of a stretch than saying it won't be.

Never saw Deadwood. However, I expect that Deadwood is/was probably a better show than this is/will be. Having said that, I'm excited as fuck to see Hell On Wheels. I'll definitely be tuning in. I won't be expecting it to be as good as that show I never saw. And I will be open to being pleasantly surprised.

AMC knows what they're doing.

AMC makes a great case for itself when firing the heart behind The Walking Dead and running Breaking Bad and Mad Men through the grinders?

My claim was/is Hell on Wheels won't be an all-time great. That's what I meant to imply earlier. I don't even think that's a claim interesting enough to merit a :shake: , much less this nitpicking.

i loved Deadwood, although the last season was the weakest

Fair enough.

(re Deadwood Season 3: it was messed with because the whole time line instantaneously changed for the writers , but I agree it was the weakest.)
