They were one of my favorite bands when I was younger, when all the music I knew about was what I saw on MTV.

Ignition- Solid album.

Smash- Formative album of my youth, still holds up as a 90s pop/punk/rock classic.

Ixnay- Its alright, some decent tunes, some crap.

Americana- I like only one song on here. This is the beginning of the end. Everything from this point is unlistenable garbage.

I bought Smash and never got into it, bought and resold Americana. Not really into them.

I met Dexter once, he was nice. That's all I have to say about them.

Smash and Ixnay are by far wher eits at when it comes to offspring. With smash being teh supreme offspring album After Ixnay they obviously wrote songs for the radio and mtv, which is cool i mean they couldnt stay the same forever, pretty fly for a white guy....i remember hearing that and almost going into tears realizing it was over. but after Ixnay they dont exist to me.

they have a few good songs but they haven't made a good record in quite a while. every new song has started to sound the same as the last one. and it seems like they always attempt to do that good pop song to get the same success as, "why don't you get a job?"

Americana was the album back in 5th grade. But now...man. It wasn't that great.

Ixnay is my fave, BUT

did anyone else notice that "Why Don;t you get a job" and The Beatles "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" are AMAZINGLY similar?

Damn Peeps, earlier today I was thinking about starting an Offspring thread (one of their songs was on the radio).

I don't even remember which albums I have of theirs, I haven't listened to them for a long time.

Their music makes me think of High School, I really liked them back then. I still do like them. I need to go find those albums and give them a spin.

I love 'Smash', when that CD came out, we would put it on while partying. I have 'Splinter' and its not all that good, I only like maybe 3 or 4 songs on it, I guess I need to get Ixnay...

The two times i've seen them (once as headliner during the Americana tour and another time in a Radio station festival) they were amazing live...maybe you saw them on an off night?

regardless, they're cool i guess, they really get the crowd movin, so they have a good energy on stage. I loved Smash and Ixnay, and one of my fav songs of theirs is Pay the Man from Americana, but thats really it

Smash was the shit back when I was in elementary school. I think I still have it at home somewhere. I bet I could still get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
