It has been for about 11 months lenny. Thats the max. It just deletes the oldest threads.

Look at it this way, if the threads were more popular, they would have been bumped at some point or another to the first 998 pages to stay out of jeopardy.

I don't, but i'd venture to guess that if family members were tracing their genealogy, a record could be found for each and every one of them. These posts are gone forever. That's a bit of an apples and oranges comparison though, ydnar.

I really am bothered by this. I may just post exclusively at the fuge where they will never have enough threads for something like this to happen.

the ratio of RM Progeny posts to all other posts is something like 3:1

And the locked threads from 2004 or so, were among the most classic posts for GD- we can't move them by adding a new comment so those will eventually all filter down to page 999 and poof...
