Kid A is my favorite Radiohead album, just missed the decade.

It's a personal taste thing more then anything. Nirvana got somewhat killed for me long ago as they are my younger brothers favorite band and he was incredibly obnoxious about them for years. Ok Computer is a great album but I am a bigger fan of the Kid A and Amnesiac sessions. The Flaming Lips are one of my favorite bands. I have seen them live several times and I love The Soft Bulletin. However, I prefer Yoshimi and At War with the Mystics. Automatic For The People could be ranked higher. I grant you that.

You preferring KA to OKC doesn't make OKC a strictly worse record than any Bush or Live album though, does it?

Live and Bush haven't been popular bands for well over a decade, and even in the 1990's, Nirvana and REM were significantly more popular.

No It doesn't make it worse. I just like those albums better. I don't think in any way they are more musically complex or more artistic or any of that. I just like them better. 16 Stone came out when I was 14 and I LOVED it. I still really enjoy a lot of those songs. Alien, Machinehead, Comedown, Everthing Zen, Bomb, Little Things, Glycerine I love them all. Pretty much the same story with the Live album. I came out at a really impressionable time in my music listening life and made a big impression on me. I still love a lot of songs from that record too. So for me it isn't as much about what is musically pushing the boundaries or on a more impactful on the history of music, clearly that would be OK Computer, but what had an impact on me and emotionally resonates with me still. I hope that all makes sense.

My point was that I wasn't critiquing your list because I think you've shafted kewl bands in favor of popular ones, but rather because I think you have some run-of-the-mill alternative rock records above some classic masterpieces.
