Saw it tonight. I didn't see part 2, but the first one fucked me up, and this one was nearly as good/bad. They actually have a ghost walking around in a sheet at one point in this movie, and yet the entire audience was terrified for most of the running time. Quality filmmaking.

I only saw the first one. Fun concept. But it mostly just bored me. And the ending nearly ruined what good it had going for it. I applaud what it was trying to do, and at times I felt some tension. But mostly I just thought it was repetitive and awkward.
No desire to see the second or third. But I'm glad you folks enjoy them.
It looks like shit gets real here in PA3, like mostly gone is the more subtle, slow burn approach of the scares that the original had, things are more visceral this time. But okay, so going back to PA1, my recollection of it, it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense that events in #1 would be as surprising to Katie if she had what we now see was some intense fucking experiences as a little girl. I mean, I realize of course it's not like it comes out of nowhere to her in the original film, she seems to have some kind of understanding of what's going on even early on in #1, but it just seems like if things were this intense when she were little, she wouldn't be this unclear at all about it as she is, in PA1.
I hope I'm explaining myself right, but it's probably just coming across as a ramble
When we see Kristie having her first chat with Toby that's being filmed in the middle of the night in her room, the last things you hear her say is "Yea, kind of. He's very sweet." And then she walks away and returns to bed. Do you think she's answering Toby as to if she likes Dennis or not? (considering he's not her biological father)
well and also, in what I believe is her last exchange with him in the house (before they go to grandmas) when he's messing with Katie, to get him to let her go, Kristie says "Yes okay, I'll do it." Now in the context of knowing the full story, I've heard a lot of people say that she thinks Kristie is agreeing to let Toby have her first born son, but I don't think that's it. For one thing I kinda thing Kristie's too young to really even have a grasp on that concept. What I thought it was was Kristie saying that yes she'll try and convince her parents to take them all to grandmas the next day. I mean the very next scene is her bringing it up, then going back to Katie and relaying the answer. I think the demon wanted to get the whole family back to grandmas so all that shit could go down in the end.
