Was this ever reissued? Someone I know has recently stumbled across this in a record store for relatively cheap, but it's still shrink wrapped. I was under the impression that this was only pressed once and there were like 550 copies made. I know that the band was supportive of this release even though it wasn't done through sony/epic, so as a bootleg is it possible that another record manufacturer put this out years later?
I need to know, RM.

Welp, I'm assuming this is one of the newer ones floating around
From the pit:

I just bought one of the red copies and i wasn't totally impressed with the sound quality. It sounds like the source was a high quality mp3 at best! I'm going to take it over to my drummer friends house and see what he thinks.
PD the difference is that the white and green copies are authentic copies that were released by vintage vinyl in '96, and the black and red copies are fakes that were made in europe by someone who has connections with a printing and pressing facility. They are capitalizing on the fact that the album is so rare, and they know that someone will pay at least $50 to have a copy. If it only cost them $20 to make each copy thats still a decent profit. Some people on e-bay have paid upwards of $200 for the red version, and I'll bet they thought that they were getting an authentic copy!

You know, if the fucking nazi mods at the pit didn't lock the thread about this I could ask these guys about the lot numbers on the original bootleg vs the bootleg of the bootleg.

Chud, mail pdalowsky over on http://www.pjcollectors.com ...they know *everything* about this stuff and the soldier field vinyls are probably covered over there.

I already got this cleared up. Recently some new pressings started coming out from Europe that are bootlegs of the original (which were technically bootlegs themselves, despite the band being cool with them). These new ones have packaging that is near identical to the originals, including Vintage Vinyl and that radio station's logo. The giveaway is the lot number. Originals are VV000001 and these new ones are like 00000V.V or some shit.
Also, if the package is open and you can see the vinyl themselves these new ones are black or red vinyl, where the old ones are pearly white and toothpaste green. I've never heard either pressing but someone at the pit described the new one as sounding like it came from high bitrate MP3s. Either way I'm not interested in these.

The recording of this show BLOWS anyway. It sounds like it was taped off AM radio. So what's the point?
I had no idea what the LP sounded like, but if I found an original 1996 pressing of it for a double digit price I'd buy it in a heartbeat. If it sucked I'd sell it and make 10x the profit.

Oh, it's this really great place to play in Dublin
Good one
It's the O2 now though. Incidentally it's reputation as the death venue continues. Girl died in 96 at a pumpkins show, anotherguy died falling off the balcony at an ocean colour scene show, and last night a girl died falling off a rillercoaster there after a britney spears concert.
The guy who fell of the balcony at PJ there last year only broke his arm. The tool thought he was jumping onto a surface. It was a large piece of cloth 30 feet above the sounddesk.
Anyways, soldier field is overrated to bits.

i just found an original copy (V.V.000001; black vinyl) for 25 pounds in london this past week. i just returned to new york to check out what i have. it looks to be in perfect condition too!
OK, well then i have a promo from the radio station. the vinyl says what i said it says: v.v.000001 and both are black. on the inside it says 1996 and sponsored by a radio station.
