Lengthy Bob Dylan Tribute Album 'Chimes Of Freedom' Track List Revealed
1:14 p.m. · November 23, 2011 · by Andrew Martin

As we previously reported, Amnesty International is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary and honoring the work of Bob Dylan in a big way. They have put together a tribute project called Chimes of Freedom: Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International. And it's not just lengthy in terms of its name.

The project features four discs filled with a total of 75 -- yes 75 -- covers of various Dylan tracks from across his storied catalog. I would start to rattle off which ones I want to hear the most -- cough, Queens of the Stone Age and Raphael Saadiq, cough -- but I could probably go on about this forever. Just peep the long-ass track listing below and get ready to hear it all when Chimes of Freedom drops Jan. 24. All proceeds from the release will go toward Amnesty International. [CoS]

It's a little disconcerting to see so many 'pretend' musicians on the tracklist.

MMJ :)

She's got great taste, though; that's a great song she's covering. Lots of pop lightweights cover Dylan, but they usually pick something like "Make You Feel My Love." Good on her.

Ke$ha, though?

If the track listing is correct then that's pretty amusing, given that the Kronos Quartet follow straight after with the same tune.

I like that it's so crazy eclectic.

It's easy to miss among the Mileys and Ke$has, but in truth I'm probably most afraid of this:

My Chemical Romance: Desolation Row (Live)

The studio version from the Watchmen soundtrack is surprisingly not terrible.

"Surprisingly Not Terrible" would be a great name for a My Chemical Romance greatest hits album.

I liked it, and I don't like MCR, but truth be told, I'm mostly interested in this because I've been waiting to hear that Bad Religion cover for quite a while.

I'm a little scared of this as it's one of my Dylan faves.

So pretty much all I want out of that is the Bad Religion track.

It'll be interesting to see if its an acoustic thing centered around Greg's voice, or if its an all-out punk blast. Either way, I hope its good.
