In light of the "EV - 11/24/11 Mexico City Interview" thread, and Ed's "may not ever record Of The Earth" comment, I am wondering... do we really need new studio work from PJ or are concert recordings of new songs good enough? I hardly ever listen to their studio albums anymore. It's all boots. I am not sure I would really miss it if they went away. (And aren't albums money losers now, anyways?)

I would prefer great albums and zero live shows.

(If I had to trade one for the other, of course.)

So it boils down to brand-new music, or old music over and over again...?

That's not what anyone said at all.

What do you understand "Do we need new studio albums (or is live good enough)?" as?

But the person who posed the question said that in the hypothetical new songs would still be played live.

Reading comprehension isn't a strong point here.

I think it's bullshit on every level. On one hand, if you agree with me, you are too fanboi. On the other hand, maybe you just hate everything the band does and are a cynical douche. Limited means limited, and the servers work either awful, or fine for me. My number gives me good seats, but they don't tour here enough. The last tour wasn't as good as jack, but i love matt and matt songs. Unless its one of the songs I don't like. Why don't they write good songs anymore? Backspacer was pretty good though. Best since Riot Act, unless you count s/t, which is also awesome. No good records since Versus though. Dave A was the best.

I missed this meme. Can you provide a hyperlink to its inception?

A hyperlink would've been nice, though.

It might be a cool and interesting thing if they recorded a live album of all new material in the same manner as Neil Young's Time Fades Away or Rust Never Sleeps.

I think doing what REM did with New Adventures might come out better...
