I wonder if a person ever really does drive their Chevy to a levee...and when they get there, is it dry?

I wiki'd it. You're right Gods' Die.

Skitch? I guess it is pretty awful. Can you move this piece of trash to the RM recycle bin using your mod powers?

I'd say this isn't really Southern Rock at all.

And to your original point I've never happened upon a dry levee I was hoping to swim in, but I'd guess it'd be quite a sad find.

Good ole boys drinking whiskey and rye...etc etc. That's not lyrical yet hillbilly nonsense from the south?

I was gonna use 2 out of these 3 for examples...plus Little Feat and Marshall Tucker Band.

Was also gonna throw in John Denver.

I just threw on Patti Smith after Little Feat and Jay-Z cuz I gave up on youtubing Ween a bit ago. Followed by T. Rex.

If Skynyrd and Molly Hatchet are southern rock, I'm not sure you can put the Duane era of ABB in the same genre.

I cry 'bullshit'...just because they're not as good doesn't mean they're not the same genre. I suppose Bob Dylan is the only singer-songwriter; all others must find another genre to occupy because they do not match up?

I think Skynyrd's a great band, I just don't think they sound much like the early ABB.

Is this thread actually about whether or not Don McLean is Southern Rock? I wouldn't expect anything less on a Pearl Jam board. Now excuse me while I listen to the gritty down-home stylings of Joni Mitchell.
