that game was a little fucked up. just endless crushing of LSU's hopes, but by only scoring field goals never quite removing the hope and ending the game. even sadder how the last drive went, and that final punt.
i'm sort of stunned at how badly the option worked for LSU. sort of a guaranteed three yard loss. And I still don't understand not switching quarterbacks by the end.

something about that game, the specific way in which Alabama dominated LSU (and also, Saban's reaction to one penalty with a 21 point lead late in the game), brought to mind 1984, and this line
