Man I hated that Opeth record. Such a shame too. When I had heard it was more mellow/prog I was really excited because I love, love, love Damnation. Its probably in my top 3 for them.

I like Damnation but i think Heritage exceeds it in pretty much every way.

Heritage is good, but it's still standing at disappointment with me. I don't see it being a record I'll be listening to, say, next year. I loved the shit out Damnation when it came out, but it's not one I put on often, even though I still like it quite a bit.

I think eight from my list didn't make the cut.
The Horrible Crowes – Elsie The Low Anthem – Smart Flesh Greg Brown – Freak Flag John Hiatt – Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns The War On Drugs – Slave Ambient Elbow – Build a Rocket Boys! Thee, Stranded Horse – Humbling Tides Russian Circles – Empros

The Black Keys album is good, and it made my top 25, but I'm not sure it should be number one. For the longest time I thought The Decemberists album would be my number one. It was quite close for sure. Bon Iver should be top three. I placed it number one right over The Horrible Crowes album. I'm sure not many hear like THC or have listened to them.
