I live within about 4 miles of where I grew up, and for years I saw this building called Scott Colburn: A Western Store. It's been their my entire life, about a mile from my current home. I have driven by this building literally thousands of times. Sometimes I notice it and wonder what's in there. Most times I don't. I assumed to know what was in there, but didn't know for sure.

The other day, my wife and I went out to lunch and had some time to kill before dropping the kids off at day care. We drove past and a 25 year itch needed to be scratched. We turned in with a bit of excitement.. and we were not disappointed. It was everything I could have imagined. an entire 2000 sq ft area of leather cowboy boots. Saddles. $500 cowboy hats. Belt buckles and spurs. The mystique could have been ruined, but all turned out okay.

Does anyone else have one of those businesses by their house that they never have gone into, or finally went into recently?

ok, ok, I do admit to always wondering what goes on in the Christian Science Monitor Reading Room in Boston, but I'd never go in there, man- religion scares me

The courtyard outside is gorgeous. We're talking about the place on Mass Ave across from Symphony Hall, right?

Those little Hispanic grocery stores. They both frighten and intrigue me.

I feel the same way. I went in one while in college with an acquaintance whose family ran it. He gave me some kind of drink that was very good. I'm not sure i'd be comfortable going in one by myself.

Is their website. The weird thing is brands I've always looked at as somewhat of a joke, are like real brands. Stetson for example.

What I would give for a picture of Edward Zeppe in a cowboy hat and as*less chaps.

there's this bar a block away from my house, fully stocked, and usually with a few lights on at night, but no one's ever in there, not even a bartender. it creeps me out.

Thank you, but I'd like to give credit to that joke to Spike. He did the same thing in the ADHD thread. I liked it so much I brought it here.
