going to see this tonight. looks good. An idealistic staffer for a newbie presidential candidate gets a crash course on dirty politics during his stint on the campaign trail. Based on the play by Beau Willimon. George Clooney, Ryan Gosling, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti

This was ok. Decent enough story. With a lot of big name actors I thought one of them would really shine, but they were all just ok. Not bad by any means. Gosling is way better in this than in "Drive".

what a fucking great flick. I had no idea that it would have that much intense drama but I decided to go see it as it's now at the 5$ theatre. I now see what all the fuss is about. One of Gosling's best roles so far.

This came up on my Netflix que. After a slow start the pacing turns on a dime and steams through the second half. I'd recommend it and am surprised it didn't do better than it did in terms of box office/buzz. Maybe it's lackluster title didn't help. Of course it's an illusion to Julius Cesear and political backstabbing. Speaking of which there should be some sort of website listing movies that don't start out particularly good but improve dramatically at some point. And tells you what point that is. For Ides of March I'd say it was when Gosling mistakenly answers her phone.
