I was walking across the golf course behind my house today, when I came upon a dead squirrel that looked like it got fucked up really bad. So I figured it was the coyotes that roam the course at night who were to blame, and then the word Pheonix popped into my head, and I couldnt remember for about a minute until I realized Pheonix Coyotes.
And that reminded me of how much I miss NHL.

I feel your pain. Is it a bad sign of withdrawls when you're buying a movie ticket and notice the plexi glass wall that separates you and the vendor, and you get a sudden urge to start banging your hands on it and start screaming, "You suck Fedorov!"?

How do you think I feel, what with having to see nordiques and rangers and bruins every day
Seriously, though, I miss it too knowing that it would be Cup time. And, throwin the fact that they're talking about using scabs next year and I don't even know what kind of hockey we'll be watching. I'm glad at least i have Hockey East to focus on.

i live with penguins and they just remind me of how bad pittsburgh is and that i may never see them be good (or even return) again... but my 2nd thought is missing the nhl.

For the last hour, off and on, they've been playing highlights from past Sabres games on the radio. I don't think I've ever been more depressed. Those highlights featuring Rick Jeannerett put a lump in my throat. There is no better hockey play-by-play man than Jeannerett, and the fact that there was no NHL this season really hit me today like no other thus far.

GMs decided today that there would be no replacement players. If there's no deal by the time the season starts, then it will be delayed again.
The season WILL start on time.

You crack me up.
We have a minor league team here and seeing them helped out with my withdrawls. But now that their season is done, I am missing the NHL again.

But was it really the same?

Not at all. It was live hockey, so it was better than nothing. But the skill level was no where near that of the NHL, plus there was no Peter Forsberg out on the ice.

Not the same here. But that's because
TOTALLY SUCKED ASS.
I remember when they were part of the IHL. I think that our team got a player from Utah last season.

Just thinking you might be having one of those not-so-SMRT days.
I had a momentarily lapse where the ole brain was *actually* working.
