Last night I watched the second episode of Luck, and it was terrific. I'm a sucker for anything David Milch does, but it's nice to see that this project is guaranteed to get a fair shot because a major name is onboard (Hoffman). (I'm still sore about the way HBO handled funding for Deadwood, and then prematurely backed out on John From Cincinnati.)
Anyway, it definitely sticks to the general schema of a Milch show, and horse racing seems like a natural topic for him. Has anyone else been following the show?

I haven't seen the show yet but he was on Fresh Air a couple weeks ago and he explains his personal experiences at the track. Really good interview and it made me really want to see the show

I'm not sure if this is an excuse or not, but they're saying it's being cancelled because they can't guarantee safety during production. 3 horses have died thus far, though the production's safety policies and practices are not being blamed for any of those deaths.

Yea no one else will pick this show up and have PETA and shit all over them. Not to mention the show was really disappointing given the people involved in it.
