yeah most people know the names Ellington, Armstrong and Holliday even if they have no idea what they are famous for. thats about all one can expect after 80 years.

There will be segments of the population talking about every band in 80 years, they all have niche value. But if we're counting Bessie Smith and Woody Guthrie as "artists we'll be talking about in 80 years," then the whole discussion is moot.
