Rolling Stone declares Pearl Jam's new album, simply titled "Pearl Jam" (in stores Tuesday), the band's best in a decade on the same cover that asks if the current president is the worst ever. Without endorsing either position, it's worth noting the two are not unrelated. On record and in performance, Eddie Vedder sounds fully engaged and fired up. The music benefits, no matter how you feel about the politics.
