Looks decent. I'll check it out this summer.

it can´t be better than the original...mainly because of the director...Verhoeven movies were pretty satirical even if they were sci fi or action movies.
I see this one as a straightfoward action movie.

If the goal of this remake was to suck out all the fun, mission accomplished. That's tedious, generic-looking product right there.

I have a memory of seeing this movie. Is that real?

I think this shouldn't be considered a remake for the first movie.
In fact it is just another adaptation for the short story/book "We can remember it for you wholesale" on which the first movie was also based.

Right. That's why they're calling it TOTAL RECALL.

Calm down. Don't do anything you will regret later.

Also, they are going for the head scene like in the original movie.

Hollywood is really scraping the bottom of the barrel now, remaking Arnold Schwarzenegger movies that only averted being shitty in the first place because of their campiness. I'm sure the movie-going public will throw a few hundred million at it anyway.

the original is great, as are most Verhoeven flicks. this does look like Hollywood trash, though. no Mars? no Quato? fuck that.

Yeah, there's this weird trend of making old, campy movies into serious stuff and making old, serious movies into campy shit. I recently saw an infographic that compared the number of original movies to the number of sequels or remakes in 2011, 2001, and 1991. It was pretty pitiful.
