EDDIE VEDDER POSTPONES US SOLO TOUR DATES

Eddie Vedder has announced the postponement of his 15-city U.S. solo tour today due to temporary nerve damagein his right arm, the result of a back injury sustained earlier this year.

Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis explains, "After having worked aggressively with doctors and physical therapists for the last eight weeks to repair the damage, the intensity of the injury and time needed to heal has made it impossible to play the shows as scheduled. There was hope up until the last minute that the treatments would be successful. Sincerest apologies go out to those who have made plans and bought tickets. Eddie is frustrated beyond measure, but remains positive that come this summer all will be back in good form."

All postponed dates will be rescheduled for November and December 2012. Tickets will be honored for rescheduled dates. Refunds will be available upon request through the point-of-purchase. Fan Club members with Ten Club pre-sale ticket will receive an email regarding proper refund procedures today, Thursday March 5th.

This is tough news. I paid $600 for my plane ticket to Tampa. The rescheduled date for the Clearwater shows is rather inconvenient, as my Friday night concert now moves to a Tuesday night. Oh well.

The rescheduled PHX date couldn't be at a worse time, may have to get the refunded. I feel bad for those that had to fly in for the show.

Ed's gonna have stop giving Stone reach around's so close to a tour. But I now might make a show.

Exactly my first thought. Then I thought... well... it could be worse. PJ could be cancelling shows in the poor, under-served European market. How long should fans in Berlin be forced to wait between shows?

In fairness, better this than playing through it and playing half assed as a result. it's a sickener for those travelling but hopefully it won't affect too many.

What's funnier is my buddy took off today for the shows in vegas, about 3 hours ago. I don't think he has a fucking clue about this.

I peeked in on the threads at the official site and was impressed to see pages of respectful comments wishing Vedder a swift recovery. Really hard to be mad at the guy for getting hurt and I believe the explanations are legit. He probably tried hard to be ready up til the last minute and this will undoubtedly be for the best in terms of his recovery. Europe tour not effected since he can still sing without playing guitar - it will be just like the old days.

what is even funnier about that is if you do not even attempt to let him know before hand.

The Vedder I fell in love with would have made his way through the performance anyway...You know....I could sit and play guitar for him.

There's still nothing scheduled for September/October, unless that's going to be a Soundgarden tour for their new record.

Do people really want to see another Pearl Jam show without new songs? Haven't you been fixed enough already?!
