I saw this guy perform this week and he was amazing. Go see him if he comes to your area. He's huge in Europe and Australia but not really known in the US.

Tons of his stuff on youtube, here are a few:

And what I think was the best of the night:

I really liked "Prejudice." I thought about seeing him when he came through here last year, but didn't get around to it.

What's wrong with him? In my search to see if there were any threads on him, both Beef and Nads posted they were listening to one of his songs.

They're Australian too and they like him!

He's pretty divisive. I know people who love him and people who hate his guts. He wrote a song lately for a TV show that a lot of people didn't like; he kind of phoned that in, but other than that, I like him.

Nope, not that one; another one. I can't really be bothered to find out which one it is.

Suffice it to say that Prejudice is awesome.

This guy played Lupos club in RI last year. Every time I saw his annoying face and hair in the ad, I just assumed he was an ex-nu metal band guy gone solo. Like, maybe one of the guys from Slipknot or something.

Now I know who he is. I guess he's ok at writing novelty songs.

He's a comedian; that's all he's trying to do, he does it well.

He's a pretty incredible musician/showman. But yah, he's first and foremost a comedian.

I would say it's wasted talent; but I very much doubt that comedy is all he does; it's just probably what makes up most of his pay packet. In fact, he just recently wrote the score for the stage musical Matilda, didn't he? So he obviously does other stuff as well, yeah.

Yah he wrote the score for Matilda and I guess it's going to be a big hit.

I just find him painfully unfunny - but Harmless is right, it's a love him or hate him type deal I guess.

It's like Gotye - when something awful becomes huge that also happens to be Australian, I feel as though I owe the world an apology.

It all just happened so fast, you know? Before we even had time to think, it had spread like wildfire.

Just watched about thirty seconds of that first Tim Minchin video, just to see if he'd be any more appealing to me now.

Ugh.
