Have a promotional copy in my hands right now...lucky me you guys have to wait a couple of days
Anyhow first impressions...classical Brad record. Some really Zeppelinesque rockers by Stone and some sweet songs by Shawn. Not so much funk on this one, just rawk and ballades.
My favorite tracks are: Diamond Blues, Las Bastion and Waters Deep, all of which are the rockers. I think I like Waters Deep the most, which is kinda weird since it's the european bonustrack.
Can't tell if this one is better than 'Best Friends' (still an excellent record!!), tend to say no but it could definately grow one me...

Bought a ticket for DC. Stoked. I haven't seen these guys since like, '98 or so. I also haven't really listened to anything since Discovery Park and I barely paid attention to that one. What did I miss out on?

Best Friends? is a strong record imo..
I would rate them like this: Shame > Interiors / Best Friends? >>>>> Welcome to Discoverypark

Yeah i feel best friends? is their best record. It has the best elements of brad , even if shame and interiors have the classics. So the new one hasnt that much funk in it? Bummer.

Nope, not much funk at all...but more rockers with more Stone solos! 'Tea Bag' is their hardest rocking song to date!

I need to give it more listens. I ordered the motherlode set: cd, vinyl, lithograph, and a band t-shirt that is cool enough that I'd actually wear! Can't wait for that to all arrive. From the brief listen I gave the album today, it's pretty versatile-the kind of record where one guy might love song x and another fan not like song x but love song y coz they're all pretty different. There's one slow song near the end of the album that's fucking breathtakingly good.

I still haven't gotten around to hearing the previous album, though I almost bought it last week. Do they sell FLACs of their stuff anywhere or do I have to buy the CD?
I can never decide if I really like these guys or not. I tend to like their heavier and funkier moments the best and be bored senseless by the softer tracks.

Kick ass!! Stone really rocks on those tracks, great stuff on the last track here. I just cant believe they left Waters Deep from this record, so lucky it's on the euro version as a bonus track. That tracks kicks all sorts of ass!!
