I really hope this doesn't say something about their confidence in Manning's neck. I was thinking 4th round earliest for a QB and not looking for a replacement (which I don't know that he is) until the next draft or two.
I don't think it does--regardless of where you draft a QB, the ideal scenario is to have him fit behind Manning for 4 years. Still, we agree that 4th round would have been ideal for a developmental QB. There are still plenty of defensive needs--I wanted Brandon Boykin at that spot.
I really liked Boykin too, I was thinking David. With the probable DJ Williams suspension (and personal problems), I thought they could use a LB.

there ya go Pats, trade w/ GB again, that never backfires...
I still have bad memories of the Packers conning both of our teams and the Falcons with Chad Jackson, Javon Walker, and Jimmy Smith, while they laugh to the bank with Greg Jennings.

my only consolation will be if the Pats get Smith from Utah St.

I didn't hear good things about David, but you're our resident Husker fan, so maybe you could set the record straight. I wanted Zach Brown, but the Titans scooped him up. I guess we're stuck with Joe Mays unless Nate Irving wakes up. Boykin and Josh Robinson fall into the third--hopefully they get one of them later on.

When Doc and I were PMing back and forth on who the Bucs would take in the 2nd round of our mock draft, Lavonte David and Doug Martin were two names we were throwing around. Nice.

Real quick on David, the main knock I heard on him was his tackling ability. He had I think 130, then 150 or tackles the last two years in the Big 12 and Big 10 respectively with I think 6 FF last year.
I did just learn our new young RB was coached in Pop Warner my non other than Snoop Dogg.
*edit I will never use the abbreviation for laughing out lout but....Jaguars? What the Fuck?

Well, I'm a stickler on wanting good tacklers, especially at MLB.
Someone made a good point--when the Dolphins selected Olivier Vernon, it meant that a freaking punter went two picks before ANY Miami Hurricane.
Meanwhile, I got a scare when I heard the name "Brandon" announced for the Chargers, fearing that it was Boykin. Instead it was another DB named Brandon.
