** ‘MMA Uncensored Live’ is scheduled to return next week and just had a one-week hiatus. The show is not as much driven by numbers for Spike but designed as a promotional vehicle for Bellator on MTV2 and when it comes to the network in January.

**There is a fantastic set of interviews on Mauro Ranallo’s Thursday edition of ‘The MMA Show’ podcast breaking down the Alistair Overeem drug test failure. Ranallo chats with NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer and then a real revealing chat with Dr. Johnny Benjamin about T/E ratios and is a must-hear for anyone that follows MMA and Professional Wrestling. Benjamin states that a natural healthy male has a T/E ratio of 1:1 and you cannot obtain a higher than 2:1 ratio naturally. The current cut off in Nevada for a failure is a ratio of 6:1 and for WADA it is 4:1. The WWE cut off is also 6:1 and there have been circumstances where guys have come in over 2:1 and are deemed clean but it’s a very tiny percentage and the current set up leaves a wide margin for PED usage and coming in under the 6:1 threshold. I encourage everyone to check this show out because it reveals a lot of holes in the system and perhaps a bit too much ‘benefit of the doubt’ given to athletes that is allowing testosterone use within an allowable limit but cheating still taking place.

**UFC President Dana White has stated that Frank Mir will fight Cain Velasquez at UFC 146 on May 26th and are awaiting the outcome of Alistair Overeem’s hearing before the Nevada State Athletic Commission on April 24th. Mir and Velasquez seemed like the only viable contenders to fight Junior Dos Santos and White is maintaining there will be a title fight on that May 26th card but either White has information about Overeem that suggests he could fight (highly unlikely) or White has a plan up his sleeve for another contender. Dan Henderson has stated online that he would accept the fight against Dos Santos if it was offered to him.

**Here are the main card results from Bellator 64 held Friday night in Windsor, Ontario at Caesar’s Windsor:
*Hiroshi Nakamura over Rodrigo Lima by unanimous decision (29-27 all) in the quarter-finals of the Bantamweight tournament
*Travis Marx over Masakatsu Ueda by unanimous decision (29-28 all) in the quarter-finals of the Bantamweight tournament
*Marlon Sandro over Alexandre Bezerra by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) in the semi-finals of the Featherweight tournament
*Ben Askren over Douglas Lima by unanimous decision (50-45 all) to retain the Bellator Welterweight Title

**Eric Prindle may have the record for most delayed fights in such a short time span as his Heavyweight Title shot against Cole Konrad is off of the Bellator 65 card next Friday night in Atlantic City and will be re-scheduled. This comes after two attempts last month to put together his tournament final with Thiago Santos before Prindle won the tournament by default when Santos missed weight. Next Friday’s card is headlined by Zach Makovsky Vs Eduardo Dantas for the Bellator Bantamweight Title.

**Bobby Lashley will headline the Super Fight League 3 card on May 6th against James Thompson in a heavyweight bout in India.

**The UFC held a press conference today for UFC 145 with a different format as did a face to face style presentation with Jon Jones and Rashad Evans on stage and moderated by Jon Anik. They took questions from the media in attendance as well as Twitter. The two were not shy about the fact they are burned out talking about one another and were friendly with one another throughout the presser by joking with each other and not even ruling out being friends after they fight. I was very surprised especially with Evans who has been a part of big drawing grudge fights in the back and understands the dynamic that needs to be there. This fight on Saturday is probably good for 500,000 buys if you eliminate the grudge element and simply bill it as a title fight with the #1 contender but it’s the back story of the two being partners and the ‘good friends, better enemies’ storyline that would push this fight above that threshold and you are selling a fight. I personally would rather have had these two play up the dynamic and save this type of joking and friendship chat for after the fight for the sake of doing as much business as you possibly can.

**The UFC on FUEL 2 event averaged 197,000 viewers this past Saturday for the card headlined by Alexander Gustafsson and Thiago Silva. The show was down slightly from the inaugural FUEL event in February (Jake Ellenberger Vs Diego Sanchez) but the first show aired in prime time on a Wednesday night.

**Thursday night’s edition of ‘MMA Uncensored Live’ will feature an interview with Eddie Alvarez chatting his fight with Shinya Aoki on Friday night (a fight that is being completely overshadowed this week by UFC 145) as well as a feature on Imperial Athletics in Florida, the home of the Blackzilians.

**The second episode of UFC Prime Time ‘Jones Vs Evans’ averaged 573,000 viewers on Friday night on FX following ‘TUF Live’. Friday night’s edition of TUF averaged 1,000,000 viewers featuring the Chris Tickle Vs Joe Proctor fight

**Bellator 65 last Friday night averaged 163,000 viewers on MTV 2 featuring Eduardo Dantas defeating Zach Makovsky for the Bellator Bantamweight Title.

**Dave Meltzer has an excellent piece on UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem and this unprecedented situation for the UFC with his hearing coming up next Tuesday at Grantland.com.

**UFC President Dana White confirmed Friday night that regardless of the outcome of Alistair Overeem’s hearing before the Nevada State Athletic Commission next Tuesday that Overeem is out of the main event of UFC 146 on May 26th in Las Vegas. Frank Mir has been taken out of his co-feature bout with Cain Velasquez and will now challenge Junior Dos Santos for the Heavyweight Title on that show with Velasquez currently without an opponent but expected to remain on the card. Overeem was randomly tested by the NSAC on March 27th and his test came back revealing a T/E ratio of 14:1 (allowable limit in Nevada is 6:1) and will appear in front of the commission and could face a suspension though he is not currently licensed within the state as his temporary license that was issued in December expired at the end of 2011.

**Here are the main card results from Bellator 66 on Friday night in Cleveland, Ohio:
*Brent Weedman over Thiago Michel by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) in the lightweight semi-finals
*Rick Hawn over Lloyd Woodard by KO at 0:10 of Round 2 in the lightweight semi-finals
*Maiquel Falcao over Vyacheslav Vasilevsky by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) in the middleweight semi-final
*Andreas Spang over Brian Rogers by KO at 3:34 of Round 2 in the middleweight semi-final
*Eddie Alvarez over Shinya Aoki by TKO at 2:14 of Round 1

**Alvarez is under contract for one more fight with Bellator and said the words ‘show me the money’ during his post fight interview with Jimmy Smith.

**Yesterday’s Fight Club Q&A with Chael Sonnen was out of this world with Sonnen at his Andy Kaufman best. Throughout the one-hour Q&A session he sang a song for Anderson Silva, told the people of Brazil he would being them soap and shampoo as a peace offering since they don’t have those products in Brazil, will fight Anderson Silva the second he lays eyes on him and has demanded that he will only fight Silva in Brazil if the entire crowd is silent for the fight. Sonnen also noted he is good friends with CM Punk and text back and forth regularly and noted the overseas tour they are currently on. When asked if he would go to the WWE to win the title he said he would go to the WWE and cheer for Punk in the front row and then return to his home promotion.

**Fedor Emelianenko will return to action on June 21st with a heavyweight fight announced for June 21st against Pedro Rizzo in St. Petersburg, Russia.

**Here are the results from UFC 145 on Saturday night in front of 15,454 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia for a live gate of $2,200,000:

*Chris Clements over Keith Wisniewski by split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28)
*Mac Danzig over Efrain Escudero by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
*Anthony Njokuani over John Makdessi by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Matt Brown over Stephen Thompson by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-26, 29-28)
*Travis Browne over Chad Griggs by arm-triangle choke at 2:29 of Round 1
*Mark Bocek over John Alessio by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
*Eddie Yagin over Mark Hominick by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
*Michael McDonald over Miguel Torres by KO at 3:18 of Round 1
*Ben Rothwell over Brendan Schaub by TKO at 1:10 of Round 1
*Rory MacDonald over Che Mills by TKO at 2:20 of Round 2
*Jon Jones over Rashad Evans by unanimous decision (50-45, 49-46, 49-46) to keep the UFC Light Heavyweight Title

**The following $65,000 bonuses were handed out after the card:
*Fight of the Night – Eddie Yagin Vs Mark Hominick
*Knockout of the Night – Ben Rothwell
*Submission of the Night – Travis Browne

**Both Browne and Rothwell were stating after their fights that they would be willing to fight May 26th if they were called upon.

**UFC President Dana White confirmed after the card that Jon Jones would defend the Light Heavyweight Title against Dan Henderson in his next fight but no date was announced.

**White also stated that he would have an answer regarding the Brazil show in June and whether it is happening or not. White is on his way down to Brazil with Chael Sonnen today.

**Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan doing read through – and it accidentally goes out live on Facebook.

**The Nevada State Athletic Commission hearing with Alistair Overeem took place today with the commission suspending Overeem for a period of nine-months retroactive to March 27th when the random drug test was conducted and would allow Overeem to re-apply for a license on December 27th. With the timing of the suspension Overeem theoretically could fight on the year-end show (December 27th is a Thursday and likely the UFC will run their show on December 29th). The NSAC applauded Overeem for appearing in person, they hoped he would return to their state to fight and gave zero indication that there would be any issues when he re-applies in December for a license with the state.

**The UFC held a press conference this morning in Brazil with UFC President Dana White, Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen. White announced that the title fight between the two is being moved to the UFC 148 card on July 7th in Las Vegas, Nevada. The UFC is still planning a show in Brazil featuring Wanderlei Silva Vs Vitor Belfort, Fabricio Werdum Vs Mike Russow and potentially a Jose Aldo Featherweight Title defence but they have not secured a venue or finalized a date for that show (originally targeted for June 23rd).

The result is UFC 148 will probably be the biggest card of the year with a lineup that now includes Silva Vs Sonnen for the Middleweight Title, Dominick Cruz Vs Urijah Faber for the Featherweight Title, Tito Ortiz Vs Forrest Griffin in Ortiz’s retirement fight, Rich Franklin Vs Cung Le and Michael Bisping Vs Tim Boetsch. The downside is that Silva Vs Sonnen in Brazil had the opportunity to create the coolest atmosphere for any fight in UFC history in a giant stadium with a hated villain in Sonnen and would have been one of the most memorable fights of this generation whereas the two fighting in a smaller arena outside of Brazil is just not going to capture the intangible that Brazil would have provided.

**The UFC got great news with the UFC 145 preliminary fights on FX averaging 1,600,000 for the two-hour slot leading into the pay-per-view and their highest mark since broadcasting the prelim fights on FX.

**Bellator 66 on Friday night tanked with an average of only 109,000 viewers on MTV2 despite their biggest fight of the season with Eddie Alvarez taking on Shinya Aoki. It’s a broken record but Friday nights are a disaster for this company and MTV2 is so limited in reach that the move to Spike TV cannot come fast enough. Even with those excuses this is way down from the current season average and the second lowest number of the season and I would attribute some of that to all the focus on UFC 145 rather than this show and that’s exactly what everyone predicted when this big fight was announced months ago and the timing in relation to UFC 145. The interesting aspect is that Bellator is not running this Friday and would have made sense to have held the Alvarez Vs Aoki fight this weekend when you don’t have to compete with a major UFC card and all the media attention would be focused on Bellator this week instead of Jones and Evans.

**The turbulent UFC 146 card in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 26th looks to be finalized (though with the luck the UFC has had I guarantee an injury is coming our way to the main card) and here is how the main card is looking as of right now:
*Junior Dos Santos Vs Frank Mir for the UFC Heavyweight Title
*Cain Velasqeuez Vs Antonio Silva
*Roy Nelson Vs Gabriel Gonzaga
*Mark Hunt Vs Stefan Struve
*Shane Del Rosario Vs Stipe Miocic

**The Maximum Fighting Championship has announced they are bringing back the heavyweight division to their promotion with the announcement that they have signed former UFC fighter Tim Hague. He will be fighting on the MFC 34 ‘Brute Force’ card on August 10th in Edmonton, Alberta.

**Bellator middleweight Andreas Spang has been fined 20% of his purse for his post fight brawl with Maiquel Falcao.

**This past Friday’s edition of ‘TUF Live’ averaged 1,000,000 viewers on FX featuring an awesome fight between Vinc Pichel and John Cofer.

it is a great card but I was a little pissed that the main event is happening at 148 instead of here at 149. We had our fingers crossed for Sonnen/Silva

**Mike Chiappetta of MMA Fighting confirmed with Bellator C.E.O. Bjorn Rebney that Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard has signed a deal with the UFC. Lombard was under a Bellator deal and there was a time period where Bellator had the right to match any outside offer and Rebney confirmed the promotion would not be matching the UFC offer. Lombard is 31-2-1 with 1 No Contest in his professional career and a former Olympic judoka.

**Ariel Helwani announced on ‘UFC Tonight’ Tuesday night that the UFC on FUEL 4 event will take place on Wednesday July 11th with a main event middleweight bout between Mark Munoz and Chris Weidman. The UFC has not announced a city or venue for the event as of yet. This event will take place four nights after the huge UFC 148 card in Las Vegas and eleven days before UFC 149 in Calgary.

**On the subject of UFC 149 the ‘Calgary Sun’ has announced a heavyweight bout between Cheick Kongo and Antonio Rodrgio Nogueira for that card. Nogueira returns to the octagon just eight-months after having his humerus bone broken at UFC 140 at the hands of Frank Mir. Kongo had a two-fight win streak snapped at UFC 144 when he was stopped by Mark Hunt.

**Bellator has the week off this Friday and then return the following Friday on May 4th with Bellator 67 on Canadian soil at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario. The card features a non-title fight between Michael Chandler and Akihiro Gono along with the semi-finals of the Welterweight tournament.

**Advertising Age has a big story on Anheuser-Busch issuing a warning to the UFC (where they promote heavily through Bud Lite) about a number of incidents of late that been brought to their attention on social media. Anheuser-Busch did not cite any specific examples but just a cursory view of the past few months would give you a clear indication of their displeasure between the Miguel Torres and Forrest Griffin tweets regarding rape and the recent Quinton Jackson video where he tongue in cheek attempts to rape a woman. The UFC responded in the piece stating:

With over 425 athletes on our roster, there have unfortunately been instances where a couple athletes have made insensitive or inappropriate comments. We don't condone this behavior, and in no way is it reflective of the company or its values

The UFC has also stated that they will be putting fighters through sensitivity training and classes on proper use of social media.

**FOXSports.com reported first that Hatsu Hioki and Ricardo Lamas have verbally agreed to fight on the June 22nd UFC on FX 4 event in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Hioki was under consideration for the next shot at champion Jose Aldo but felt he needed one more fight before he would be ready to fight Aldo. With Aldo rumoured to be added to the mysterious Brazil show in June that only leaves Erik Koch as a viable contender for the fight with Dustin Poirier and Chan Sung Jung fighting on May 15th and likely not having enough time to come back for such a big fight in mid to late June.

**All of the drug tests from the UFC on FUEL 2 event in Stockholm, Sweden have come back clean including headliner Thiago Silva, who was suspended for a year following a January 2011 bout with Brandon Vera where he supplied non-human urine for his post fight urinalysis.

**Bellator C.E.O. Bjorn Rebney has confirmed publicly that the winner of this season’s Middleweight tournament between Maiquel Falcao and Andreas Spang will fight Alexander Shlemenko later this year to determine the new Middleweight Champion. Their current champion Hector Lombard has signed a deal with the UFC and has thus vacated the championship.

**Bas Rutten and Stephan Bonnar try out DDP Yoga with the man himself on ‘Inside MMA’ from this past week:

**Nick Diaz’s lawyer Ross Goodman has filed a lawsuit on behalf of his client against the Nevada State Athletic Commission to have Diaz’s suspension thrown out claiming that the NSAC has not ruled on the matter in a timely fashion. There has been a lot of back and forth between Goodman and the commission where Goodman has stated that marijuana metabolites are not banned by the commission and that Diaz has a medical marijuana card but Diaz failed to disclose any of this prior to UFC 143 in February when he fought Carlos Condit. This eventual ruling in the Diaz case could set a new precedent because Diaz alleges he did not take marijuana within eight-days of the night and therefore it was out of competition use, which few would have a problem with as it is not affecting the performance the day of the fight nor is it a drug like testosterone where usage during training will impact your performance come fight time.

**The New England Patriots drafted Chandler Jones 21st overall at the NFL Draft on Thursday night. Jones is the younger brother of current UFC Light Heavyweight Jon Jones and their older brother is also in the NFL.

**MMA Junkie has confirmed that Jose Aldo will defend the UFC Featherweight Title against Erik Koch on July 21st at UFC 149 in Calgary, Alberta in the main event. Since losing by unanimous decision to Chad Mendes in March 2010, Koch has gone on a four-fight win streak including wins over Raphael Assuncao and Jonathan Brookins in the UFC.

**UFC 150 will take place on Saturday August 11th in Denver, Colorado and it is expected that Benson Henderson will defend the Lightweight Title against Frankie Edgar in the main event on that card.

**UFC President Dana White tweeted a picture of the signed contract of Hector Lombard on Friday.

**Here is the full card for the UFC on FOX 3 event coming up on Saturday night from East Rutherford, New Jersey. Originally they had announced there would not be any Facebook fights but have made the change so that all of the fights will have an outlet to air on.

MAIN CARD
*Nate Diaz Vs Jim Miller – The UFC has stated that Diaz will earn a title shot with a win while Miller is not guaranteed an immediate title shot with a win, which is kind of amazing considering the run he has had at 155. Dana White was back tracking a bit on the Diaz title shot scenario at the press conference today as he didn’t realize that would sideline Diaz for approximately nine-months and didn’t consider that when he made the statement.
*Josh Koscheck Vs Johny Hendricks – Hendricks is coming off the biggest win of his career by knocking out Jon Fitch this past December while Koscheck didn’t look impressive in February squeaking past Mike Pierce in a fight many gave to Pierce. Both are high level wrestler but love to stand and trade
*Rousimar Palhares Vs Alan Belcher – Belcher missed a year and a half due to a nasty eye injury and returned last September stopping Jason MacDonald. Palhares is one of the most dangerous submission artists at 185 and a win gets him into the title conversation
*Lavar Johnson Vs Pat Barry – This is the ‘Elite XC fight’ where the promotion always put a big heavyweight fight on their network shows to ensure a fan friendly fight that likely ends in a knockout (not to be confused with one of these guys doing an interview saying they were offered a bonus to keep it standing and put their company out of business)

PRELIMINARY FIGHTS (airing on FUEL TV and Rogers Sportsnet)
*Tony Ferguson Vs Michael Johnson
*Tim Elliott Vs John Dodson
*Pascal Krauss Vs John Hathaway
*Louis Gaudinot Vs John Lineker
*John Cholish Vs Danny Castillo
*Pablo Garza Vs Dennis Bermudez

FACEBOOK FIGHTS
*Karlos Vemola Vs Mike Massenzio
*Nick Denis Vs Roland Delorme

**The UFC has added a light heavyweight bout between the debuting Ryan Jimmo and Anthony Perosh to the UFC 149 card on July 21st in Calgary, Alberta.

**TMZ reported on Wednesday that TUF Season 9 winner and current UFC
featherweight Ross Pearson was arrested this past Sunday on suspicion of DUI.
Pearson was pulled over and failed a sobriety test and was brought in but has
since been released.

**The UFC and FX will be producing a three-part ‘Prime Time’ series leading up
to UFC 146 and focusing on the main event between Junior Dos Santos and Frank
Mir for the Heavyweight Title. The series will be debut Friday May 11th
at 11pm EST and continues May 18th and May 25th.

**Gabriel Gonzaga has been injured in training and has been replaced by Dave
Herman at UFC 146 on May 26th against Roy Nelson.

**Evan Dunham is another competitor off the UFC 146 card due to injury and has
been replaced by former WEC Lightweight Champion Jamie Varner to fight Edson
Barboza on the May 26th card in Las Vegas.

**Shannon Knapp was a guest on ‘The MMA Show’ podcast with Mauro Ranallo on
Tuesday discussing the very successful Invicta FC event from this past Saturday
night in Kansas City, Missouri that she co-promoted. Knapp stated that a total
of 233,580 viewers tuned into the live stream on their website Saturday night
and that included 218,681 in the U.S. and 12,501 from Canada tuning into for
the show. The card was headlined by Marloes Coenen defeating Romy Ruyssen by
unanimous decision in the main event. They will hold their next event on July
28th and also planning a third card in October.

**A heavyweight bout between Travis Browne and Ben Rothwell has been added to
the August 4th UFC on FOX 4 card that is scheduled for Los Angeles,

**Here are the results from the UFC on FOX 3 card held on Saturday night in East Rutherford, New Jersey at the iZod Center in front of 10,788 and a live gate of $1,100,000 and likely indicates some last minute papering in the building:
*Karlos Vemola over Mike Massenzio by rear-naked choke at 1:07 of Round 2
*Roland Delorme over Nick Denis by rear-naked choke at 4:59 of Round 1 – this was an awesome fight and one of the best one-round fights I have seen in a long time and personally thought this deserved fight of the night
*Dennis Bermudez over Pablo Garza by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Danny Castillo over John Cholish (30-27 all)
*Louis Gaudinot over John Lineker by guillotine choke at 4:54 of Round 2
*John Hathaway over Pascal Krauss by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
*John Dodson over Tim Elliott by unanimous decision (29-28 all) – Elliott was very unorthodox and reckless with his offense but made for a hell of a performance to watch
*Michael Johnson over Tony Ferguson by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Lavar Johnson over Pat Barry by TKO at 4:38 of Round 1
*Alan Belcher over Rousimar Palhares by TKO at 4:18 of Round 1
*Johny Hendricks over Josh Koscheck by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
*Nate Diaz over Jim Miller by guillotine choke at 4:09 of Round 2

**Here are the recipients of the $65,000 bonuses handed out after the show:
*Fight of the Night – Louis Gaudinot Vs John Lineker
*Knockout of the Night – Lavar Johnson
*Submission of the Night – Nate Diaz

**The fast national number for the UFC on FOX 3 card is a big disappointment with the current figure listed at 2,225,000 viewers (it may get a slight bump with the West Coast numbers figured in as the current number reflects a national average of what was airing from 8-10pm and the card aired 5-7pm on the West Coast). At the current number it is the lowest rated major MMA card on a major network (the IFL did air on Ion Television, which was technically a network but a lowly rated one and not considered major). This is lower than any Strikeforce or Elite XC card that aired on CBS and lower than the preceding UFC events on FOX. Here is a look at averages of prior MMA card on network television:
*Elite XC (Kimbo Slice Vs James Thompson, May 2009) – 6,510,000 viewers
*UFC on FOX 1 (Cain Velasquez Vs Junior Dos Santos, Nov 2011) – 5,700,000 viewers
*UFC on FOX 2 (Rashad Evans Vs Phil Davis, Jan 2012) – 4,570,000 viewers
*Elite XC (Kimbo Slice Vs Seth Petruzelli, Oct 2008) – 4,560,000 viewers
*Strikeforce (Fedor Vs Brett Rogers, Nov 2009) – 4,040,000 viewers
*Strikeforce (Jake Shields Vs Dan Henderson, April 2010) – 2,900,000 viewers
*Elite XC (Robbie Lawler Vs Scott Smith, July 2008) – 2,620,000 viewers

The UFC on FOX 3 number could receive a slight bump but doesn’t look as if it will hit 3,000,000 viewers and that is a staggering number when you consider what FOX is paying. To put it into perspective more people watched ‘Smackdown’ a week ago than UFC on Saturday night and we’ve seen the problems the WWE has had in creating stars on ‘Smackdown’ and the result being the super show on Monday night to get their top talent in front of the largest numbers possible on Mondays.

The focus now shifts to the UFC on FOX 4 special scheduled for August 4th in Los Angeles with Brian Stann Vs Hector Lombard and Ryan Bader Vs Lyoto Machida as the two key fights on the broadcast. Brian Stann is an extremely marketable fighter and has a fantastic story but the key will be getting that story across to a large cross section and creating new viewers as opposed to the audience that will be watching regardless. One of the key differences with the FOX deal as opposed to Spike TV has been the ability to introduce and create stars. On Spike they were the key tenant for the network and got tons of exposure and they were able to attract a significant audience for their countdown specials, Unleashed specials and other programming and delivered numbers that FUEL TV has not been able to come close to replicating. This becomes an issue when introducing Hector Lombard, who can be marketed but you have to reach an audience in order to do so and interviews on ‘UFC Tonight’ and special on FUEL are not going to mean anything (perhaps in 2-3 years when FUEL is in more homes and UFC can get credit for the growth of the network but that’s not a reality at present time). For those remember back in 2007 when the UFC signed Heath Herring they aired commercial after commercial of the infamous Yoshihiro ‘Kiss’ Nakao fight where Herring knocked the guy out after a kiss and aired it time and time again and led to a bump in numbers for his debut on Spike TV.

**TUF Live from this past Friday did 954,000 viewers on Friday night featuring Andy Ogle defeating Mike Rio in the final opening round fight to get into the quarter-finals.

**Johny Hendricks was being very vocal after his win over Josh Koscheck that he wants to wait and fight for the Welterweight Title in his next fight. There is a real clog at the top of the 170-pound division right now due to the uncertainty regarding Nick Diaz. Hypothetically if Diaz’s suspension was shortened and could fight as early as this summer then winner of that fight could fight Georges St-Pierre at the end of the year. I would say if Diaz won that hypothetical fight you definitely go to the money fight in St-Pierre Vs Diaz but if Condit wins the fight, you could go the St-Pierre Vs Johny Hendricks route in November and then match the winner with Condit in early 2013 to settle the interim title issue. And if Diaz’s suspension is held up you could go to Condit Vs Hendricks this summer and the winner fights St-Pierre at the end of the year.

**John Dodson broke his left hand during his fight with Tim Elliott on Saturday night.

**Here are the main card results from the Bellator 67 event held on Friday night Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario:
*Ryan Ford over Luis Santos at 1:24 of Round 2
*Damian Grabowski over Dave Huckaba by unanimous decision (29-28 all)
*Bryan Baker over Ben Saunders by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) in the Welterweight Semi-Final
*Michael Chandler over Akihiro Gono by TKO at 0:56 of Round 1 in a non-title fight

**The Super Fight League 3 event took place earlier Sunday in New Delhi, India and headlined by James Thompson defeating Bobby Lashley on straight scores of 29-28. Lashley was having some success with his striking but whenever he started to land he would shoot for a takedown and seemed very tentative to get into a striking dual with Thompson and was not a terribly engaging fight. Jeff Osbourne and Phil Baroni handled commentary along with promoter Ken Pavia and were rather entertaining throughout the card.

**The UFC returns to FUEL TV with a card on Tuesday May 15th headlined by Dustin Poirier Vs Chan Sung Jung in a Featherweight bout along with a great fight on paper between Donald Cerrone and Jeremy Stephens in a lightweight bout.

**The news was broken on Monday afternoon by Phytegurus.com that UFC Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz is out of the July 7th UFC 148 card in Las Vegas, Nevada with a torn ACL. This throws a major wrench into the current season of TUF but will actually add some interest for at least this coming week’s show. With a torn ACL that means Cruz will likely on the sidelines for a minimum of 6-9 months and could lead to an interim title being introduced for the UFC 148 with Urijah Faber fighting a top bantamweight such as Michael McDonald.

**UFC President Dana White did state after the card Saturday that Nate Diaz has opted to sit out and wait to fight for the Lightweight Title in his next fight. Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar are not scheduled to have their rematch until September and that would likely keep Diaz on the shelf to December at the earliest and more likely early 2013.

**The UFC on FUEL 3 event is coming up this Tuesday with the Facebook preliminary fights kicking off at 5:30pm EST and then the main card airs at 8pm EST. Here is the full card for the show on Tuesday taking place in Fairfax, Virginia:

MAIN CARD (airing at 8pm EST on FUEL TV and Rogers Sportsnet)

*Donald Cerrone Vs Jeremy Stephens

PRELIMINARY CARD (airing at Facebook.com/UFC at 5:30pm EST)
*Cody McKenzie Vs Marcus LeVesseur
*Brad Tavares Vs Dongi Yang
*Carlo Prater Vs T.J. Grant
*Rafael Dos Anjos Vs Kamal Shalorus
*Johnny Eduardo Vs Jeff Curran
*Alex Soto Vs Francisco Rivera

*The UFC has announced that Jon Jones will defend the UFC Light Heavyweight Title against Dan Henderson on September 1st at UFC 151 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

**Dominick Cruz was a guest with Ariel Helwani on ‘The MMA (After) Hour’ discussing his torn ACL. Cruz said the injury took place during training in a sparring session where his partner leaned onto his knee inadvertently and there was a loud pop but Cruz continued onwards and it was later that night he realized he needed a MRI.

**Strikeforce has announced their next major card for July 14th in Portland, Oregon at the Rose Garden and have announced the following fights for that card:
*Luke Rockhold Vs Tim Kennedy for the Middleweight Title
*Robbie Lawler Vs Lorenz Larkin
*Keith Jardine Vs Roger Gracie

With the announcement of the Strikeforce card that means there will be three Zuffa shows within a seven-day period with UFC 148 on July 7th headlined by Anderson Silva Vs Chael Sonnen, a FX card for July 11th along with the Portland card.

**The UFC has added a lightweight fight between Terry Etim and Joe Lauzon to the UFC on FOX 4 card in Los Angeles, California on Saturday August 4th.

**The UFC has added a light heavyweight bout between Phil Davis and Chad Griggs to the August 4th UFC on FOX 4 card in Los Angeles, California.

**The Jon Fitch Vs Aaron Simpson welterweight bout is scheduled for July 11th at the UFC on FUEL 4 event in San Jose, California. Simpson is coming down from 185 while Fitch is hoping to rebound following a 12-second knockout loss to Johny Hendricks at UFC 141 this past December.

**UFC welterweight James Wilks quietly announced his retirement over the weekend on Twitter. Wilks won Season 9 of TUF defeating DaMarques Johnson in the finals of the tournament in June 2009. Since that fight he has been riddled with injuries and only fought three times with his last fight a unanimous decision loss to Claude Patrick in October 2010 at UFC 120.

**Here are the results from the UFC on FUEL 3 event held last night in front of 4,592 and a gate of $343,165 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia:
*Francisco Rivera over Alex Soto by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Johnny Eduardo over Jeff Curran by unanimous decision (29-28 all)
*Rafael Dos Anjos over Kamal Shalorus by rear-naked choke at 1:40 of Round 1
*T.J. Grant over Carlo Prater by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Cody McKenzie over Marcus LeVesseur by guillotine choke at 3:05 of Round 1
*Brad Tavares over Dongi Yang by unanimous decision (29-28 all)
*Tom Lawlor over Jason MacDonald by KO at 0:50 of Round 1
*Igor Pokrajac over Fabio Maldonado by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
*Yves Jabouin over Jeff Hougland by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)
*Donald Cerrone over Jeremy Stephens by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Amir Sadollah over Jorge Lopez by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
*Chan Sung Jung over Dustin Poirer by D’arce choke submission at 1:07 of Round 4

The main event was a fight of the year candidate between Jung and Poirier and the best Jung has looked and evolved so much over the past year. The Pokrajac Vs Maldonado fight would have earned fight of the night on 90% of MMA cards as they had a war back and forth for three-rounds but were outpaced by the main event and will likely receive one of those ‘quiet’ bonuses.

**UFC President Dana White missed last night’s show and was the first card he missed in 11-years and a streak of 168 straight shows he attended. White is in Los Angeles where he had an operation this morning to correct an inner ear issue he has been having and identified as Meniere’s Disease and is a result of heavy fluid pressure in the ear and leading to significant dizziness and affecting your equilibrium. White will have to rest for a full week after the operation.

**Here are the recipients of the $40,000 bonuses handed out after the card:
*Fight of the Night – Chan Sung Jung Vs Dustin Poirier
*Knockout of the Night – Tom Lawlor (on his 29th birthday no less)
*Submission of the Night – Chan Sung Jung

**Here is an interview conducted today with Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Gilbert Melendez discussing this Saturday’s title defence against Josh ‘The Punk’ Thomson, the rumours of Thomson having a knee injury, the perception of Strikeforce right now and more.

**Chael Sonnen’s new book ‘The Voice of Reason: A V.I.P. Guide to Enlightenment’ is now available on Amazon with the foreword being written by God.

**Rafael Natal Vs Andrew Craig and Nick Penner Vs Tom DeBlass have been added to the UFC on FUEL 4 card set for July 11th in San Jose, California.

**The Bellator 68 card from this past Friday averaged 169,000 viewers on MTV2.

**UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones was arrested early Saturday morning at approximately 5am EST in Binghamton, New York on suspicion of DUI after crashing his Bentley into a pole. Malki Kawa, who represents Jones with First Round Management issued the following statement:

I can confirm that Jon Jones was arrested early this morning on suspicion of DUI," stated manager Malki Kawa. "While the facts of this situation are still being gathered and situated, First Round Management fully supports Jon, and we are asking for fans and media to respect the privacy of Jon and his family during this time.

**Here are the results from the Strikeforce card held on Saturday night at the H.P. Pavilion in San Jose, California:
*Bobby Green over James Terry by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
*Quinn Mulhern over Yuri Villefort by split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28)
*Gian Villante over Derrick Mehmen by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
*Guto Inocente over Virgil Zwicker by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
*Isaac Vallie-Flagg over J.Z. Cavalcante by split decision (20-28, 28-29, 29-28)
*Chris Spang over Nah-Shon Burrell by TKO at 1:55 of Round 1
*Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante over Mike Kyle by guillotine choke at 0:33 of Round 1
*Gilbert Melendez over Josh Thomson by split decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-48) to keep the Strikeforce Lightweight Title
*Daniel Cormier over Josh Barnett by unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 49-46) to win the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix

**Daniel Cormier and Josh Barnett both broke their hands in the opening round and that’s incredible considering the pace they maintained for 25-minutes. For Cormier this is the third time he has broken his hand since September (broke it during the Antonio Silva and then in training this past December, which delayed the Barnett fight from the original target of March). Cormier will now have to fight one more time in Strikeforce and then will likely make the transition into the UFC. Cormier has been asked of the possibility of Cain Velasquez (his training partner at AKA) regaining the Heavyweight Title and what would happen in that scenario and Cormier has hinted that they would fight but is also open to moving down to 205 for the first time in his career because of less weight he is carrying right now.

**On Friday night’s edition of TUF Live it was confirmed that Renan Barao will fight Urijah Faber for the Interim Bantamweight Title on July 7th at UFC 148. Barao was originally scheduled to fight Ivan Menjivar on that card.

**Al Iaquinta and Vinc Pichel advanced to the final four of the current season of TUF on Friday night with Iaquinta stopping Andy Ogle and Pichel winning a decision over Chris Saunders. Iaquinta and Pichel will fight next Friday for a spot in the finals and means that one of them will have fought three-weeks in a row, which is pretty crazy. James Vick and Michael Chiesa will fight in the other semi-final next Friday. The finale show takes place June 1st in Las Vegas, Nevada.

**Here are the main card results from the Bellator 69 event held on Friday night in Lake Charles, Louisiana:
*Mark Holata over Abe Wagner by Achilles lock at 2:24 of Round 1
*Jessica Aguilar over Megumi Fujii by unanimous decision (29-28 all)
*Karl Amoussou over David Rickels by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) in the semi-finals of the Welterweight tournament
*Maiquel Falcao over Andreas Spang by unanimous decision (29-27 all) to win the Middleweight Tournament

Falcao was deducted a point in the opening round for a knee to a downed Spang but completely bullied Spang for the next two-rounds and was never close outside of a flurry by Spang in the opening round. Falcao will fight Alexander Shlemenko later this year for the vacant Middleweight Title that Hector Lombard vacated.

**UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones posted the following statement on his Facebook page regarding his DUI charge over the weekend:

Man I haven't added anyone new to my Facebook page in like three years and right now I'm so glad that I haven't. It has literally been sickening to have so many people try to kick me while I'm down. At the same time, I totally understand, I gave them the leeway to. I screwed up, big time. Just needed to say thank you to all you guys for being amazing friends/supporters.

Always having to deal with so many critics, haters and fickle mma fans, I almost forgot how strong of a home base I had (607 and people that knew me before I was a champion fighter). Although the hell that will come with this hasn't even started yet, I want you guys to know how much better you've all made me feel, not only about this situation but about life, everything. It's good to feel that people are there and care. With that being said, I felt I should apologize to you first.

I'm truly sorry to those of you that I may have embarrassed in any way, to those of you with kids that I may have let down. I will prove to them as well as to myself, that no matter what is happening in life, we can always work our way back and make things even better than before. Reading you guys uplifting comments was a great reminder for me to not give up on who I am or all the hateful people. I'm not gonna allow this situation to outweigh the positive. I love you guys right back and I promise to make things right. PS sorry about the terrible grammar :)

**Chael Sonnen appeared in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission today and was granted a testosterone usage exemption for his upcoming fight with Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in Las Vegas on July 7th.

**Herb Dean has been selected to officiate the main event this Saturday night between Junior Dos Santos and Frank Mir for the Heavyweight Title at UFC 146 in Las Vegas.

**Here is a great promo the UFC has put out for UFC 146 this coming Saturday featuring the all heavyweight main card:
