We are excited to announce that Ten Club will be unveiling the new pearljam.com website in early June 2012.

It’s been a long road, but we’ve finally arrived thanks to the creative input from the band, a stellar team of site developers new and old, the band’s archivist and recording engineers, and Ten Club member feedback.

Your favorite Pearl Jam website features will remain, including:
-      Forums
-      Streaming Pearl Jam radio
-      Members only merchandise

A bunch of new advanced features have been added, including:
-      Enhanced discography
-      Enhanced show archive, including memorabilia from the show
-      Expanded live photo slide shows, including some never seen before
-      Guest check-out in the store section of the site
-      Simpler store design and navigation
-      Select bootleg revival
-      Informative and interactive activism pages

New members-only features have also been added, including:
-      Easier to navigate site and member management settings
-      Automatic membership renewals
-      Member-to-member live chat

In order to prep the new site, pearljam.com will be taken offline from Sunday, June 3rd until the site launch scheduled within a week.  Our team is working hard to make the transition as smooth as possible.  However, with any new site launch there can be some unexpected growing pains. Your patience is appreciated in advance.

To expedite getting answers to your questions about the new site, we’ve set up a page called Answers to Frequently Asked Questions, which we will update continually. You can find that page at the following link: http://www.pearljam.com/faq
If you don’t see an answer to your question there, please email info@tenclub.net

As always, we want your feedback. Once the new site goes live in early June let us know what you think and what we can improve by filling out this feedback form https://pjguest.wufoo.com/forms/z7p9z7/

In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek behind-the-curtains to give you a feel for things to come..

Best regards,
10c

A: Our own Pearl Jam sound engineer is digging into the archive and pulling out some old bootlegs that have either been discontinued or were never released. We never quite know which recordings will surface so it’s quite an exciting time. We’ll be posting them for sale in the online store, one-by-one as we receive them.

As I posted in the other thread: Please do it right...

I'm posting the whole FAQ in this thread b/c Ten Club has a habit of editing, and we'll want to know what was originally promised. :-)

Account Info:

Q: Is all my account info going to stay the same with the new site?
A: Yes, on June 3rd we will be moving all of your account information over to the new system as is. This includes your contact info, mailing address, order history, and member number. To make the transition as smooth as possible, please login to your account and make sure all of your contact info is up to date.

Automatic Membership renewals:

Q: What does Automated Membership Renewals mean?
A: It means never having to worry about loosing your member number (seniority in the fan club) again! Now with our new site, all members are required to have a credit card number on file. When it comes to your expiration date, the new system will automatically charge that card for the new year of membership.

Q: Do I have to put my credit card on file in order to renew?
A: Yes, all Ten Club membership will be automatic renewal. The new system will keep your credit card on file at the time you make your first renewal on the new system. After this first time you will not be asked for this info again.

Q: When do I need to put my credit card on file?
A: The new site will send you an email just before you are about to expire warning you of that deadline. Since this is your first renewal on the new system, you will be asked to enter your credit card info and agree to the new terms of use for future renewals. From this point forward you will not receive any more renewal reminders as the site will automatically renew for you.

Q: What if I do not put my credit card on file?
A: On the day your membership is due to expire it simply expires and you are no longer considered a member.

Q: What if I decide not to renew.
A: To cancel future membership renewals, simply login and visit “My Subscription”. Next click “Do Not Renew Subscription”. Your current membership will stay active until your expiration date at which time your membership will simply become inactive. Should you decide to renew more than 90 days after that date, you will receive a new member number and all seniority will be lost. However, your membership and order history will remain intact.

Q: Do I still have 90 days from my expiration date to renew and keep my member number?
A: Since we do not have your credit cards on file until you’ve submitted the card info, we are granting all members a 90-day grace period on their current membership. ***Reminder, during the 90 day-grace period you are considered an expired member and therefore not eligible for any fan club benefits. The grace period only applies to getting your member number back should you decide to renew within that time frame.

Q: What if during my membership year, my credit card is deactivated or expired?
A: All you have to do is login to your membership account and update your credit card info in the “My Subscription” section.

Bootlegs:

Q: I read that one of the new features will be “Select Bootleg Revival”. What does that mean?
A: Our own Pearl Jam sound engineer is digging into the archive and pulling out some old bootlegs that have either been discontinued or were never released. We never quite know which recordings will surface so it’s quite an exciting time. We’ll be posting them for sale in the online store, one-by-one as we receive them.

No chance of this website containing the artwork concept for the new album? No? Alright then.

A year prior to release?

Hence why I put the bolded.

There is a general hint of the fact that I don't see the point in changing your website until you have a design concept for a new album.

Tying your website design to your album artwork is extremely foolish anyways. Takes away a lot of enjoyment of the albums art as you soon become bored looking at loading animations and just the art itself. Better have it crisp clear and independent of any artwork.

What are the odds of this going smoothly?

I don't think it's 'better'.

All I'm saying is (I probably should've been more brief) what's the point? It's another pointless change to pass time, a periphery to the music.

This will also preserve the horrible lose/loose error for all time. That one is really starting to get on my nerves, almost more than it's/its.

To be honest, it looks quite nice. Pearl Jam got younger.

I don't lose/loose sleep over the Ten Club's website, but my complaints have always been about functionality and organization.

This will never happen, if it does, I'll shave my balls with an electric razor and post in on this thread. That's how confident I am that will not happen.

You've officially earned my vote against the opening of the vault.

The bootlegs are good news, but of course I have a major bitch about this. First, learn how to spell "lose".

Second, the keeping the credit card thing on file is just stretching it to get more money from those who forget about the membership and let it renew automatically...

I thought only those "free 30 day trial of herbal viagra" sites did that.

I really don't like the idea of mandatory automatic renewals.

10Club has to do somethng to justify their existence in the absense of tours to fuck up.
