I know this isn't exactly about Pearl Jam, but Votegirl (Becca) and I met on the Synergy board 11 months ago, and as of Friday, we are engaged to be married!

Because our favorite band is Pearl Jam, pearls have a special meaning for us. And so I proposed to Becca with a pearl ring by the waterfront on Pearl Street in Burlington, VT... a city we love and hope to move to after we're married. (ha, if only it was called Pearlington)

Becca has a three-year-old daughter and we are changing her middle name to Pearl at the same time when her last name changes to mine cause I'll be adopting her.

Anyway, we had a truly awesome weekend up in Vermont. We even stumbled upon a Green Party meeting (we are both registered Greens) and we got to chat with the VT Greens' candidate for U.S. Senate.

Oh, and before we left, I performed my best rendition of "Thin Air" (which will be our wedding song) there at the park at the end of Pearl St. for my future wife. I only screwed up the guitar part after the first chorus a little bit.

All else I can say is that I have found my true love and I couldn't be a happier man!

I wish the same for everyone else.

Now, I can't wait for Synergy to go back up so I can announce our engagement on the website that brought us together.

Don't be too hard on yourself, even Stone himself has problems with this song ;)

Other than that, congratulations!

Congrats. You got engaged in my old college stomping grounds. I try to get up to Burlington at least once a year now. Great town!

Outstanding! Two of my favorites from the Moving Train (assuming you were Kenny O.--I was Uncle Leo).

It never occured to me that the board would bring people together in such a way.

I know one thing, the little girl is going to have better taste in music than all of her peers.

Congrats.

Thanks, everyone!

Sideshow/Uncle Leo: Yeah, I'm the Kenny Olav frequently seen on A Moving Train. Our little girl already loves Pearl Jam, you should see her rock out to it! She also loves Audioslave and just about everything else we listen to.

Bostonlou: I don't know what you're talking about, man!

Ender: Yeah, I still played it better than Stone did on Benaroya

Ed would be grinning ear to ear if he was aware of the people connecting through his music.
