Cardboard attracts and stores moisture. Poster death. Get a decent sized portfolio, some mylar sleeves and store them flat, back to back or individually in a a moisture free, hopefully fireproof environment, not on the floor, so as to avoid curious pests/rodents and not to high so as to avoid wasps who chew up paper in order to make their nests.

agreed with Dime ... If you want to go a cheaper route, get a BIG pad of acid-free archival drawing paper, and place between each poster (like pre-sliced cheese). put in a portfolio case, preferably one with hard edges/corners.
For a while, i got two LARGE sheets of foamcore and clipped them together with big metal clips. that works too on the cheap / non-long-term storage
