Anyone know how to get rid of it? It's all over my back yard and invading our garden area.

Use a good selective broadleaf weed killer. My personal favorite is image. http://www.imageforweeds.com/ (I believe they market it as nutsedge killer but it also kills clover and dollarweed among other annoyances)

It is best used out of a pump sprayer directly on the weed rather than using the hose end type sprayers.

read the instructions carefully though, it's important to do it as directed so you don't hurt your grass as well.
