Really surprised there isn't a discussion thread on these.
What are some of your favorites? My foray into podcasts started with Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier's SModcast, which in turn led to Hollowood Babble-On, which is still one of my favorites. Jay Mohr's Mohr Stories usually has some funny and endearing interviews.
Anyone here listen to Marc Maron's? I've heard a lot of people listen to him and Adam Carolla, but I haven't found any of their podcasts too engaging.

Marc Maron is better than Carolla. Carolla is super obnoxious, Maron is just a little lame. Weird that he's the #1 comedy podcaster in the world.
I like the gang from Simply Syndicated, they're funny and very very English. I especially like "Movies You Should See". I have a voice-crush on Alison Downing (I have no idea what she looks like. I don't care. Please don't ruin this for me.).

Maron has gone crashing downhill in the last year...if you can find some of the older ones (Dane Cook, Louis CK, his evisceration of Mencia, Gallagher (yes, Gallagher)), it's great entertainment...but over the last year or so the quality of his podcasts have dipped dramatically

Hollywood Babble-On is my favorite and the only one I listen to on a regular basis. Ralph Garman is hilarious. Although my favorite impression he does - Charlton Heston - he seems to do the least out of any of his regulars. Saw Kevin Smith/Scott Mosier live and didn't really care for it - Mosier was boring. Haven't really checked out any of the other Smodast shows.
Also listen to Bill Simmons' BS Report.
Listened to a few episodes of "How Did This Get Made?" which is about "so bad they're good" movies, was pretty funny. The one for "The Room" was the best.

Agree. I got into a Maron kick a few months ago and listened to all of these (Judd Apatow is also good), but I don't listen to the new ones because I got bored. I highly recommend the ones above. You can get them all for $1.95 on his website (for a month subscription). Make sure you cancel though cause it auto-renews.

I'm seeing Kevin Smith/Garman live this Saturday (I guess its a Comic-Con show though I am not attending). I don't listen to his podcast but I've seen Smith "standup" before on cable. Looking forward to it, will report back.

Local ones for me based on DC radio are The Sports Junkies and Mike O'Meara, but by looking up my favorite comedians on iTunes under podcasts I've stumbled onto Marc Maron, Fitzdog Radio, and The Nerdist.

Big Names: Doug Loves Movies (Hit or miss on the guests though, plus he charges for some of them) Girl On Guy (Aisha Tyler, also hit or miss but the one with H. Jon Benjamin is the funniest thing I've heard in years, and it's even better if you pretend she's interviewing Archer) HBO Smodcast The Smartest Man in the World (Greg Proops, hilarious but has 'boring preachy parts' as he calls them so if you don't like politics stay away) This American Life
Little, personal ones: The Comedy Button (nope, don't know how to describe it but it's not stand-up) Giant Bombcast (gaming related)
and a few others that I don't have on my ipod right now.
