It's musically very interesting, and seems to really highlight some of the qualities of their early music that got discarded while not becoming quite as bombastic as most of that early work is.

I agree. The Stone riff and the fretless bass are great - the chorus lets it down a little. The "If I knew where it was..." was my favourite line for a long time.

Apparently someone on the end of our street has a PJ evolution / stickman car sticker. We're wondering about knocking on their door and saying we're in the area doing an Oracle survey, would they mind answering a few questions about the PJ event.
