60s: Beatles
70s: Neil Young
80s: Tom Waits
90s: Pearl Jam
00s: Jack White
10s: Too early in the game for me but I'd definitely read others' opinions

Runners up: David Bowie, REM, Radiohead (probably could have been both 90s and 00s; maybe I fucked up? Fuck it.)

If I had 400 million chances to guess who you or anyone including Tom Waits's mom thought won the 80's I wouldn't have come up with Tom Waits so no not too predictable.

Generally speaking, when you start one of these threads if you want sufficient debate it's not wise to so nearly nail it on the very first thread.

I would give the 90's to Nick Cave, however. And while I'd probably protest Jack White's spot, as well, I wouldn't protest all that loudly.

Led Zep probably won the 70s, though their career dont comfortably fit in a decade. Pink Floyd might be a better choice.

80 - Any pre-Pearl Jam band
90 - Pearl Jam
00 - Pearl Jam
10's - Pearl Jam

C'Mon guys Michael Jackson won the 80's. Videos, Albums, Commercials, Q-Rating, Famous Friends, he even got to make out with Brooke Shields, Madonna and Webster. He won. Oh and he had his own monkey.

70s Zeppelin, Floyd is another good option, but when most people think 70s, Zeppelin comes in first
80s Michael Jackson
90s Nirvana as a knee jerk reaction, but I'd give the nod to Radiohead(one of the few albums with as much clout as Nevermind) or PJ(alot more success throughout the decade)
00s White Stripes

I'm not comfortable giving Radiohead the 90s. But I'll gladly hand them the 00s. Though, my preference is Jack White/The White Stripes.
