I've noticed this too. And I'm only 25. Which is old but not that old. I guess I'm not as angry as I used to be? And if I am angry I control it for the most part.
I find myself listening to a lot of Delta Blues from the 30s, 40s, and 50s now. I don't know.

I don't know. Maybe. I still like harder songs, though. I was never that into really heavy music to begin with, I guess.
But, like, I'll still spin some System Of A Down - especially BYOB. I think I just avoid noise. And I like a good melody.
You're listening to the wrong SOAD. Fuck anything after Toxicity.
It may not be as good a record, but Mezmerize has quite a few fantastic melodies.
I thought so when it came out, but those seems to be songs I can't go back and revisit. I have no problem throwing on Toxicity or self titled every once in a while though.
Those guys put on one hell of a show back in the early aughts.

Toxicity is the one I go back to most often. And it's the only one I listen to from beginning to end. But Mezmerize has some really great stuff too. And BYOB is my all time favorite SoaD song.
I'd take that one song over all of Toxicity if you made me choose. But if you made me make a choice like that, you'd be kind of a dick and I'd have to stop tweeting with you.
