"Excuse" or "Reason"?

I think the real "reason" is often a slow running computer, so that a poster ends up clicking "submit" twice or more.
Quick draw fingers would be another reason.

An "excuse" would be, "Oh! My mouse slipped off the pad and I had to catch it real quick"
or "Damn demons!"

I was thinkin' that the people this happens to probably tend to be habitual drug users but I can't say for sure
