To LA - Cesar Izturis and Paul Quantrill
To Tor -Luke Prokopec and Chad Ricketts

What the hell? I liked Izturis in his brief time with the Jays, but he was the shortstop of the future... Luke Prokopec was supposed to be pretty good... but he SUCKED.

I hate it when teams do this... not only did Izturis turn into a solid offensive shortstop and Gold Glover, but he was EXPECTED to be this good before the trade. Why the hell, after trading starting shortstop Alex Gonzalez and two other prospects at the same position, would the Jays do this?

Anyone else have a little trade that bugs the hell out of them?

Jalen Rose traded by the Pacers with Travis Best, Norman Richardson, and a second-round draft pick to the Chicago Bulls for Brad Miller, Ron Mercer, Ron Artest and Kevin Ollie on 2/19/02.

And everyone said the Pacers were stupid for making this trade.

Jalen who?

It is simply referred to as "The Trade." It was the largest player trade in NFL history, and it led to a Super Bowl caliber Vikings squad being decimated, a 2-time Super Bowl champion Cowboys team being built, and Vikings GM Mike Lynn being perhaps the most hated man in the world by Vikings fans. The Trade took place on October 12, 1989. Believing the Vikings to be only a big-time RB away from winning it all, Lynn acquired Herschel Walker from the Cowboys for 5 roster players (LB Jesse Solomon, DB Issiac Holt, RB Darrin Nelson, LB David Howard, DE Alex Stewart), and 6 assorted draft picks (conditional 1st & 2nd round in '90 and '91; 1st round and conditional 3rd in '92).

The end results of the trade after 1992:
Vikings
WR Jake Reed

Cowboys
RB Emmitt Smith
DT Russell Maryland
CB Kevin Smith
S Darren Woodson
CB Clayton Holmes

Didn't the Chargers trade up to get Ryan Leaf?

And yeah, that Herschel Walker trade was abysmal for the Vikings. I hope the same ends up true for the Redskins with Portis/Bailey and Campbell/2006 1st, Paymah, and 2006 4th.

Meh, at the heart of it it was just one bad seed for another. At least Jalen played this season.

I'm not saying the Sox brass hasn't had their share of bonehead trades.... allthough trading away unproven minor leaguers is a bit different

varitek was an unproven minor leaguer when traded.

lowe had pitched in 12 career games with seattle, with an era of 6.96.

Markus Naslund for Alez Stojanov.

And most trades that Mike Milbury makes.

Do you remember what it took to get Soriano from the Yanks? It was a steal if I recall.

ron artest is barely equipped to be a human, much less play basketball. how's he working out for the pacers?
