Hopefully I'll be able to adjust the consolation matchups next week as well so I can keep assigning the empty team matchups to the people who deserve them.
This is exactly why I made sure everyone who joined the league understood that you can't give up when you suck, it fucks everything up.

Since the consolation ladder is fucked up because of these assholes I've decided that no matter how things finish, the two empty teams will be awarded the 5th and 6th draft picks for next year (which will actually be taken by whoever joins the league, not the current owners). So the rest of us will be battling for the top 4 draft picks.

Also, the 11th and 12th place teams have been abondoned by their owners. They won't be invited back this year. So I their teams are officially ownerless now and I've cleared their lineups so the 7th and 8th place teams affectively have byes.
For what it's worth, my stepson really wants in a fantasy baseball league. He'll be 14 next year, is a baseball stat guru and just flat out loves baseball. He understands how to play as he watched me all this season. If you can't find anyone else he'd be happy to play and I can promise he won't abandon the team.

I'll keep that in mind. I have to offer one spot to my brother, he's been on the top of the list since I made the league. Either way, whoever joins will be assigned to the two abandoned teams complete with their current rosters. If they don't like anyone on these rosters as far as keepers are concerned, they can just opt to keep no one (or less than 3) and instead will get to make actual draft picks during the keeper rounds.

That's cool. And I was just throwing it out there in case it comes down to crunch time and you have no one else.

Candidates for the secnd opening (assuming my brother takes the first one) are Dr. Van Nostrand and Ruddo's step son so far. But I also had one or two real life friends who expressed interest earlier but I have to make sure that they still want in and will manage responsibly for the entire season. Basically, I'll come up with a list of people who want it and give it to whoever I think A, wants it the most and B, I'm most confident won't give up in early August.
