"Rough Justice" is my favorite of the 2.

These are pretty good. Are these songs going to be on the album, or are these outtakes?

Never mind:

Rolling Stones fans take note: the Rock legends' new single, "Rough Justice," will arrive at radio stations around the world tomorrow, July 22. The Stones' as-yet-untitled new album will land in stores on September 6 and the band will embark on a world tour beginning in Boston on August 21. As previously reported, some potential new songs that could make the cut for the album include "Oh No, Not You Again," "Neo-Con," "This House Is Empty Without You" and "Look What The Cat Dragged In."

Good choice for a single, I think.

The lyrics aren't great but this sounds pretty good. The guitar sounds like they came up with a classic Stonesy riff and then decided to play it backwards. Nice.

I enjoyed that about ten times more than I expected.

Typical late-era Stones. Keith wants to make Exile, Mick thinks he's keeping modern, and the rhythm section refuses to commit.

What's the line from Keith's book? Mick complaining that some people just want them to remake Exile, and Keith responds "you wish, buddy."

Given that this sounded pretty much exactly how I expected it to sound, I would say I probably enjoyed it about exactly as much as I expected to enjoy it.

I don't even like the Rolling Stones and that didn't sound too bad.

I've heard a few people make similar comments. What's the x factor? This just sounds like a run-of-the-mill Stones rocker to me.

The production is quite modern sounding, especially those drums. Maybe it's cause doesn't sound like a bunch of 60 year olds.

Yeah, I enjoy the song, but I like the Rolling Stones. And it sounds like the Rolling Stones setting out to sound just like the Rolling Stones. Or Jet.

Oh spenno, sometimes I just don't understand you.

Have you at least given some songs from their 1966 to 1972 output a fair shake? I mean, there has to be a few songs during that stretch that you at least kinda like, right?

That's pretty much my take. It sounds edgier, and even though it's not breaking new ground or anything, it does have a modern sound. It actually has that kinda sound where I think it will still sound good years from now. Unlike say their 80's stuff which just sounds horribly dated.

I've come to the conclusion that the stones are the very definition of Dad rock, and all of you are getting older.
