I'm listening to Aeroplane right now... this reissue is going to be great too. Set The Ray To Jerry is a Top 5 all-timer for me. Jimmy's drumming is just sick.

Word on the street is that it will be a compilation of live tracks from the 1995 Double Door shows. They debuted a lot of MCIS stuff and songs that wound up on TAFH at these shows.

The Mellon Collie-Aeroplane Flies High era Pumpkins is my favorite era. So many of my favorite songs of theirs is from this period... "Here Is No Why" "The Aeroplane Flies High" "Transformer" "XYU" "To Forgive" "Said Sadly" "Thru The Eyes of Ruby" "Set the Ray to Jerry" "Marquis In Spades" "Believe" "Ugly" "Blank" "God" "Galapogos" "Bodies" "Where Boys Fear To Tread" "Porcelina of the Vast Oceans"
I could go on... Just great great material. Can't wait for those 2 reissues.

Grabbed the Mashed Potatoes thing since I had never heard of it before. Also, Mellon Collie was my first SP album so looking at the deluxe set has me .

You think TAFH will get a vinyl pressing, Matt? Any rumblings about that?
I think Billy stated there would be a vinyl pressing for TAFH. I haven't heard anything about that reissue in awhile. They still haven't announced officially the MCIS reissue (it's not on their website), which leads me to believe that there's something else about it we don't know. That, or they're trying to figure out how to bring down the price somehow. Since the band hasn't set a price on it yet I think a lot of sites are price-gouging.

Bill Corgan thinks 90s era bands should stop trying to cash in on nostalgia.
Quote:
“While I’m trying to do this, practically everyone else in my generation is running to the (expletive deleted) till to cash in on the nostalgia movement, which is particularly haunting for a generation that stood for the exact opposite,” the Chicago native says. “Collectively, we all benefitted from a fierce retaliation, so to see people waving the white flag and giving in? When this would be a great time and there is a generation out there that wants to hear them make new statements?

I ve been reading some interviews and, while i totally get what he says and think he has a point, he really needs to stop saying that stuff about others 90s bands. Specially when is touring as Smashing Pumpkins and not a new name, specially when he is doing his own reissues...it weird. I do believe he has made a lot of new music these years, bad or good, he is trying to do something different in the live shows too and thats when i sorta get what he says. But Billy, please just shut up and play the hits.

Yeah, I check the SP website every other day or so to see if MCIS goes up there to compare prices. I know Amazon has a price-match guarantee (they'll adjust your charge down if the price drops before the day it ships for you, but it won't go up if the price climbs), but I've pre-ordered books only to see the price drop the day after they ship the pre-orders. The only time I feel like I got a real deal was when I ordered the Sigur Ros live album for $24; it climbed to over thirty and is now out of print, I believe.

Is there any place to see a list of non-album studio recordings? I have a feeling that these reissues don't contain ALL of the songs they recorded during those periods...
