Can't even imagine how much you're glossing over.
I'd bet it's a good bit. Obviously I can't speak for Chud, but I watched the series twice, and I picked up on a lot I missed from the 1st round. Not like major plot points or anything, but the subtleties and whatnot. Things like noticing a minor character more, or them foreshadowing towards something that will happen. Also, I picked up on much more dialog and watched with subtitles.

one of the best things about The Wire is how you pick up new shit everytime you watch it. I think I've watched it straight through 3 or 4 times and it never feels played out.

Watch however you want, duder. But it's the same to me as if someone said, "Yeah, I read Ulysses in one sitting" or "Yeah, I did the Met in two hours." It's the most densely-packed show ever written, and it's one of the most enjoyable to watch. And sure, you can go back and watch it again, as I think everyone who watches The Wire will. But I think you miss a primary joy in jam-packing this thing.
I should note that I say this as someone who's seen three seasons of Breaking Bad in the last two weeks but whatever.

Oh, you think I'm being douchey? Well I shall have to re-examine everything then. Thanks brah.
I'm sort of excited to forget it so I can go back and watch it again.
I think I'm at that point now. Its been a few years since I've watched it. I've forgotten a lot already, which kinda excites me. Just seeing this thread pop up has made me really itchy to watch it again.
