I'm finishing vocals. I'll have it submitted in a couple hours, Stip. Sorry for the delay. I started a job back in August that has unbelievably crazy hours. Early, early morning shifts, and some very late night shifts, so I'm always tired and it gets harder and harder to get anything done in my personal life when all I want to do is sleep.

actually, gonna wait until tomorrow to post the songs since this is an exhibition round and I don't know if Riot Actor knows that.

I'm just prefacing the posting of my latest track, warning you all how terrible I think my singing is. I should've tuned down a half-step or something. Perhaps chosen a different track. But yeah, I know it sounds bad.

Riot the music is great. You did struggle vocally but I think if you did a few things differently you could have pulled it off. First like you mentioned the tuning. Second the tempo was a little fast....I don't know if it is the same speed as the record but you had trouble keeping up and as I sang along with you on the track it seemed fast. I notice that on some of your other tracks they seem fast. Finally your voice only really had trouble when you held the notes too long. If you cut it short it might have worked. Do it more like a conversation type as opposed to singing it. It might also make sense to do a quick guitar track and sing to that to see if you can pull it off before doing the entire track first. Once you do all that work on the music you feel obligated to finish it even if you can't really sing it. I do that all the time then beg bookshelf to bail me out.
KD your song was cool too...very well done. I kept hearing a real high Art Garfunkle harmony that would have really put your song over the top but who the hell can sing that high?

Yeah, all great points. Because I'm shaky at rhythm on drums, I usually just find a tempo I know I can fake my way through on the drums and go from there, building it up. All three of the songs I've submitted for this have been songs I've never attempted at covering before. All the ones I used to sing on acoustic guitar back in college have been left aside. Because I play to a click track, I tend to record all the parts and then add vocals last, but when I'm singing by myself, that's when I notice the obvious lack of ability, but when I play acoustic and sing, it all seems to mesh well, although the problem tends to be things not being as rhythmically exact as one would like.
When Stip told me this was an exhibition, I thought about just bailing, but at least it gives me motivation to try something else that's more minimal, more rockin'. The easiest thing I can do as a "singer" is hide behind a different genre of music.

Are McP and Bada able to go by Friday, or should we keep this round open until Monday?
