I don't know anything about releases in 2010, I'll be honest.

Eno's new ambient LP "LUX" is absolutely wonderful.

I haven't grabbed Lux yet, but I've been occupying myself with some of his more immediate stuff lately.

I could imagine Sonic Youth having fun covering "Third Uncle." Kim taking the vocals.

i have 'another green world' and all of the ambient collections (which have sparked an interest in minimalist electronica which i intend to satiate with keith fullerton whitman and christopher bissonnette). what drone-y eno albums should i get next?

You really should hear No Pussyfooting. It's closer to his ambient projects than his proper "rock" albums, but the addition of Robert Fripp's guitar textures make for a very textured listening session. I can't recommend that album enough.

If you're still not sure, read the first part of Jonathon Lethem's essay, "The Beards" for one of the most thrilling pieces of music writing I've ever read. And then listen to No Pussyfooting.

I edited my post so as not to be vague. It's definitely not a joke.

thanks, reid, i'll make note of it. but my foray into this sub-sub-sub(??)-genre is intended to afford me a temporary escape from guitar. is it actual guitar or processed guitar signal?

I think you'll find that the Frippertronics smeared across this record will be more than satisfying for your McCreadyless needs.

Hell, don't just take my word for it.
