It's come to my attention that apple cider can also be served cold. Is this true?
Absolutely. I drink it cold like 95% of the time.
So do I. I've had two types of cider this year, Gala and Honey Crisp (from the brand in the link) and I am hooked on both. I want to try their Fuji one too, if I can find it. The apple cider cupcake recipe at the bottom sounds interesting, I think I'm going to give it a try... http://www.litehousefoods.com/products/ ... pple-cider
I kinda wish I hadn't posted that pic of the donuts, I'm having withdrawls.
Apple cider should be purchased from local orchards.
I definitely agree. When I lived in IL, we either made our own (we had several, different kinds of apple trees) or we bought it from the orchard that was 10 miles away (the place that sells those donuts). There really aren't any orchards in Las Vegas. =(

Oh yeah, Las Vegas.

I'm a recent convert to cider. I drank two gallons of some local stuff when I spent a weekend in the White Mountains last October, and I really miss it. I've been drinking this since I've been back in Houston, but it's not the same. I wish I could remember the names of some of those Maine and New Hampshire orchards.

I would never buy cider in a bottle like that. Not in a million years.

Well no, I don't. Still, the fact remains that I felt at home in New Hampshire. The small roads, the cozy homes, the smell of burning wood, the friendly people. It all reminded me of Pinewood Estates, the heavily wooded subdivision that I grew up in.
