Metacritic agrees with you. He never really knows when enough is enough. And bear in mind there are extended editions due for release on DVD and bluray. I'm all for more but I want it to be good not just more for the sake of it.

People are saying don't see this in HFR. Aside from the nausea and headaches it's giving people, the image is so clear that you can see it's raining but not getting o their faces and heads and it's showing up stuff like the make up etc.
Yeah I've been reading the frame rate makes it look kinda like a TV play, and I absolutely hate that effect.

I just can't seem to get up about this project. Now with all of this talk about frame rate and mixed reviews and nausea and whatnot, I'm not even sure I'll see it on DVD.
For those who are excited, I hope it's everything you want it to be. Nothing worse than being let down by an anticipated event.

It could just be LOTR uber fans not picking but apparently tour brain does quickly adapt to the HFR. Sadly it shows up even weta's best work.
Jackson has confirmed there's 25 extra minutes footage in the extended editions. Backing up the theory that a lot of the exposition could have been left to those editions.
We'll see. I'm all for more but some of it looks ridiculous.

Got to see this tonight. Well it was good. Not amazing. Drags on interminably in certain parts. Lot of the action is ridiculous. But it feels amazin in terms of spirit. And the new shots of rivendell and stuff are amazing. Gollum is great. Worth seeing but missing the magic of the previous trilogy in a lot of ways.
Saw it in 3d in IMAX in the HFR. If you're not sitting in the very middle of the cinema the effect can be blurry and distracting. I'd say don't go see it in 3d or HFR for the first viewing. Save that for later if you are gonna go again.
