It's a pretty brave directorial choice, for sure.

this movie is basically going to be the poseidon adventure 3

You mean it's gonna s(t)ink, amirite?

godspeed, sailor. zack snyder's voyages have generally taken on their fair share of bilge.

I hate Zack Snyder, but that trailer is pretty great.

The only other Snyder film I've seen is Watchmen, which I really liked. I tend to distrust/dislike Superman films, though. It's nice to finally be excited for a new Superman film.

Sitting through another Superman origin story sounds painfully boring, but if anyone can give this dead horse a pulse, its Zach Motherfuckin Snyder.

I thought Watchmen was enjoyable. 300 didn't do much for me.

The whole "reboot" thing is annoying insofar as it does seem to necessitate another origin story. But that was only maybe the case back when the superhero movie was kind of a novelty-- now, we get about 3 dozen a summer. Are we not at the point where we could safely assume that the general public knows Superman's origin story? Or are we still not nerdy enough as a society?

And why doesn't James Bond get an origin story? It seems it's enough to know he's a larger-than-life super spy.

That being said, I will admit there's a certain poetry to Superman's origin story than makes it less tiresome than, say, having to watch Peter Parker get bitten by a radioactive spider over and over.

the line "pretend it's an island in the ocean" unfortunately made me think back to the last film.
