It's only been two issues but All New X-men is a A+++++. I haven't loved a X-men comic since the 80's.
is that the one where their younger selves come forward in time?
i dont know, maybe its just me, but AVX was kind of a let down. i mean for 45 i got all 12 issues + the battle issues so i cant complain about that, but it was all so predictable. and i realize i am calling a comic book predictable as if it wouldnt be but still.
maybe i hold the mutant massacre and fall of the mutants in too high esteem
Yeah the young versions of the X-men come forward. AVX was horrible. I haven't liked the X-men for a few decades now(except for Uncanny X-Force I like that book). This new book reminds me of when they were my favorite. We'll see if it keeps it up.

i had the original AVX where the avengers brought magneto to trial and he tried to use his helmet circuitry to erase prejudice from Cap
the new avx had such potential but it felt very rushed to me. loved romita's art as well as cheungs

I got back into comics w/ the Marvel relaunches. Somehow missed All-New X-Men #2. My local comics shop is annoyingly half-assed about putting new books out, so I have #1 and #3 at the moment. First issue was pretty great though.
I too thought AvX was kind of rushed. Not terrible, just sort of flimsy.

The Death In The Family crossover going on in the bat-books has been really good. They've made the Joker extra evils this time out. Batgirl #15 was especially disturbing.

i still dont get the whole "the joker peels of his face" thing...its weird.
Yeah fan boys are up in arms but I think it's a fun idea for 12 or 24 issues(don't know if they are doing 1 or 2 issues a month of Superior Spider-Man). A year is how long I imagine it will last.

Agree 100%

For a 700th issue, and 50th b-day year... seems a rather weird time to pull such a stunt
at least the X-men got pulled into the present day to celebrate their B-days with their now bad-guy Cyclops?, dead Jean Grey, Apocalyptic Angel with no memory of his days as Death, everyones favorite blue furball Beast and Iceman whos still... pretty much Iceman
Ive been reading Avengers Omnibus Vol 1. man did they have some balls switching up the team a whole 16 issues into the Avengers! and going from Iron Man, Thor, Giant Man and Wasp, to Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch!
and lastly, speaking of B-days
Happy 90th B-day Stan Lee!

i agree about the switching up of the avengers, but thats always been there MO. the avengers is more a concept than a stable team, though they do try to keep certain members present

Yeah, they definitely went that route with the Avengers... it just took some major balls 16 issues in (barely over a year old) to take away some of your most popular characters from a team... and replace them with 3 "villians" Brilliant long run move though... allowed them to take secondary characters with no book of their own and give them a run in the Avengers, see if they catch on, or just keep them in circulation till needed for another story.
