Is it possible to take a PAL disc and burn it to region 1?

Also is there any preferred software that burns region free (select region)?

Thanks

it is a shitload of work to make a pal dvd into a region 1 dvd.

dvd decrypter can burn region free, but it can't make a pal dvd region free.

just play pal dvds on your cpu.

that's not accurate

region is just a number code that your DVD player looks for. taking a PAL disc (assuming it's region 2, europe) and making it region free is trivial. dvd decrypter will do it automatically. all it does is change that number.

PAL and NTSC refer to the TV standard that the disc is compatible with. simply put, a PAL frame doesn't fit on an NTSC TV. Some NTSC DVD players will work with pal discs and they'll look fine. some won't.

You could take a PAL region 2 dvd, make it region 0, but your TV/DVD player might not be able to play it back right.

If your player won't handle a PAL disc, you either need to convert the disc to NTSC (usually more trouble than it's worth) or get a new DVD player.

i have a sony 300 disc dvd player that won't play pal discs, and a POS apex player that does. If you need to play PAL DVDs, go buy the cheapest dvd player you can find, and i'm sure it will handle them.
