4IP, not one batter retired, 7 earned runs, this guy has sucked dogass since he arrived, never doubt the braves when they let a player go, he is still winning games for the braves against the mets.....he sucks

well i have respect for the man seeing as im a braves fan, but i also like the fact taht he fucked up against us , but hes certainly an overall awesome pitcher, he'll get out of it...

I would take Steve Avery over Wright at this point.

I swear the Yankee front office was smoking crack when they gave Wright that contract. The only silver lining (and this is a huge reach) is that if he spends more than x number of games on the DL w/ a shoulder injury, they can buy out the third year of the deal. Whoop-de-damn-do.

Against the Braves he's been horrible but you're overstating how bad he's been overall. I mean he did make the All-Star game last year. If the Mets scored some runs for him last year or played even half way decent defense behind him, he easily would have won 16 to 18 games.
Even this year he's bad very good at times. Last start before yesterday he pitched 7 innings and gave up one run on two hits. Opening day at Shea he pitched 6 innings and gave up one run on 4 hits.

I'm sorry, I don't invest $21 million in a pitcher that has had 2 full season in his career of 8 years, and his one above average season was with Leo Mazzone in Atlanta. Wright is NOT a "great" pitcher. His stats in Cleveland were terrible. He's average when healthy and detrimental to your staff due to his health. Wright took the Yankees, absolute robbery. Cashman should be worried about his own contract.

I was just trying to be positive you know. Wright was a great Pitcher for Us in Atlanta. he should be kicking half of that back down here, and for that matter so should Kevin Millwood. Like I said, Mazzone is a genius.

Cashman and the other idiots basically thought they could get him cheaper then his $8M option for 05. They guessed wrong, and it cost them. The problem is that they've been guessing wrong too often when it comes to starting pitching.

jaret wright was lucky atlanta took a chance with him and in the games i saw he never pitched that well..it's the same thing that happened with chris hammond, except he played a little better in ATL..
If I were Cashman, I'd offer Kevin Brown, Mike Stanton, Stevek Karsay, and Tony Womack
for
Mike Cameron, Tom Glavine, and Kaz Matsui.
