Hello,
This may be a bit premature, but I can't contain my excitement.
A friend and I will be road trippin' to the Calgary show from Southern Wyo. (over 1000 miles). We'll be coming up on Saturday and looking for some good people to hang out with prior to the show on Sunday. By then, these weary travelers will need a mug of good Canadian ale! Any suggestions on where we can get in on a good pre-party would be appreciated. If you want to hook up, or now where the party will be (besides the obvious:Saddledome), reply or PM me!
Here's hoping the 10C tickets are as good as always! I'm member # 13X,XXX and I am hoping for something in the first 3 rows--I need a guitar pick from Ed to complete my collection!

Hey man, I'll be going to Calgary. I'll ask my buddies who live there where some places are to stay.
As for partying, there's 17th Avenue which is like a block from the Saddledome... it's a street of bars and pubs... I'm sure you'll find all the fun you need right there.

I see no official Calgary concert thread so i figured I would throw a post in here. Can any of you locals on the board from Calgary give us suggestions on what hotels are remotely close to the venue, which pubs to hits, local sights, ect? Any suggestions would be great!!

Hey!
Glad to see this post back from the dead...
Jammer,
Myself and 3 friends are making the trip to Calgary and we plan to get into town on Friday night. We reserved 3 nights at the Days Inn. We used hotels.com and got the room for about $68.00 (it is less for double occupancy). The Days Inn is less than 1 mile from the Saddledome!!!
We'll be looking for some good PJ lovin' folks to hang with, so maybe we can throw a few beers down together.

17th Avenue is the place to party in Calgary.
It's about a block from the Saddledome (from what my buddy, who was in school in calgary this year, told me).
He and I, and maybe a few others are road trippin' it there as well...
It'd be awesome to meet up with a few other hardcores for after concert drinks... maybe pre-concert drinks as well?

Where in Montana are you?
We will definitely be out and about on Saturday night. When we get closer to the actual date, perhaps we can exchange email addresses and find a time and place to hook up.
I'm one of those three buddies that the Captain up there is talking about. We're definitely looking forward to this trip, no doubt. As stated, we will be at the Days Inn, less than 1 mile from the Saddledome!!!
The 17th Street Square? What's there? Any particular bar/club names? And how far is that from the Saddledome?
I dont know if you guys are hockey fans, but when the flames were in the play offs last year you may of heard of the red mile. Thats where all the parties were going on, thats 17th Ave. Lots of really good pubs there. Ship and Anchor is my personell favourite. Lots of good draft, lots of good people and a very mixed crowd. Sals is another good one which is right accros the street. I'm not exactly sure but I think there is around 12-15 different pubs in that 3 block strip.
As far as hotels go,"motel village " is outside downtown but the C-train stops beside it and goes directly downtown, about 10 min each way. Motel village has around 10 motels there and good prices. Staying downtown would be more expensive, the village is the place to go in my opinion because of the good c-train access
If anyone want phine numbers, just PM me.
Hope some of this helps you guys.
James
