Do you think they'll include I've Got A Feeling in the future reissued and remastered version of Ten (when and if they do)? If so, will they give it to the US?

In 10 years or so I could see a re-released Ten package including all the bsides. Sure. I hope to god it does get remastered someday. But I want the first 4 Metallica albums remastered first :D

In the very very very far off future after the members of Pearl Jam are mostly retired or dead I think you'll see a shit ton of videos, live shows, box sets, reissues of albums, etc - much like what is happening with Elvis Presley or Jimi Hendrix - I swear a new Jimi or Elvis item is released every month.

Until then, who knows.

Brendan O'Brien needs to remix the whole album first. I prefer every remixed/rerecorded version that has surfaced to the originals.

It's still great music, though....
But I agree the production isn't that great...

MOP was remastered on one of those gold lined CDs that you can't buy anymore.

Unless clearly labelled like The Beatles "Let It Be Naked" this is only revisionist history. Ten as released captured Pearl Jam as they were, a slice of history in time.

Playing live is where Pearl Jam gets to update their older material.

I'm sure you'd all be crying foul if Pearl Jam decided to remater Ten with Boom's keyboards added.

I think that would actually be "remixing." Remastering simply cleans up the original masters. They may sound different, but remastering doesn't create any new sounds or music.

If they wanted to actually Remix Ten ... I'd buy it.

Let It Be Naked was an almost total change. Different songs, track order, takes, remixes, remasters. The remixed "Once", "Alive", and "Black" on RVM were subtle changes of the original masters, but highly effective. I'd pay good money for a completely remixed copy of Ten done by Brendan O'Brien.

I think everyone in this thread needs to learn the difference between the mixing and mastering processes.

I'd definately pick up a remastered Ten SACD.

Who am I kidding? I'd puchase the entire PJ catalogue if they went to SACD.

My bad. I made the assumption that what some people wanted was a remastered, remixed and expanded version of Ten.

What does it actually mean to remaster something?

It means the record company get to sell you the same album once every five years

I find remasters of music recorded in the CD age a bit odd. Old analogue recordings from year zero up to the early 80's can benefit enormously from this high tech mastering, but a remaster of something that was originally recorded to be released on CD is a bit of a scam really.
