2 time All star game MVP
1974 NL mvp
4 gold gloves
NL leader in consecutive games played (2nd only to Ripken)
All time leader in consecutive errorless games played @ 1B (193)

2 TIME ALL STAR MVP????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME????
The All-Star Game is just slightly one notch above a charity fundraiser game in terms of "players not really trying, nor REALLY caring who wins."
this is a true statement if your talking about the all star game NOW
but back in the 60's - sometime in the 1980's the all star game was absolutely more than just an exhibition. players didnt treat it like a joke, they actually gave a shit about beating the hell out of the other league...ask pete rose if he cared who won the AS Games he was in....

Ive never talked to XXX so I dont know if hes just giving an opinion or being a jerk, but i do agree with what he said about TODAYS all star game....but back then it was an embarassment to lose to the other league, and all those guys have said so in interviews about how rotten todays AS situation has become...
and I feel the need to keep telling you how fucking awesome the name is dude...I wish I had that episode on tape or dvd....best one ever!
