Wow, I'm listening to a mix of some of his stuff and some songs are just blowing me away at random. Right now it's Drifter's Escape. Another great one is Things Have Changed, such a drak gloomy song which strangely fits my mood tonight.
"Feel like falling in love with the first woman I meet
Putting her in a wheel barrow and wheeling her down the street"
Such a cool lyric. I love Bob's words so much and how they envoke clean images and tell amazing stories.
THIS WHEEL'S ON FIRE - great Basement Tpaes song and still sounds awesome when he plays it now. "Best notify my next of kin,
This wheel shall explode!" So amazing.
Sorry if this post was too all over the place but i'm really digging Bobby D's music this evening and needed to put it down somewhere...

Shadows are falling and I've been here all day It's too hot to sleep time is running away Feel like my soul has turned into steel I've still got the scars that the sun didn't heal There's not even room enough to be anywhere It's not dark yet, but it's getting there

Bird on the horizon, sittin' on a fence, He's singin' his song for me at his own expense And I'm just like that bird, Singin' just for you, I hope that you can hear, Hear me singin' through these tears.

I love this song like life itself. And it's from such a damn fine album. How he does it I'll never know.

It's probably my favourite song of his, and it's all the more remarkable being from 97! I still need to pick up that album

That's how I feel. Even his "bad" stuff kicks more ass than pretty much everyone elses best stuff
"she was workin" in a topless place and i stopped in for a beer, i just kept lookin' at the side of her face and the spot lights over near, later on when the crowd thinned out i was just about to do the same, she was standing there right beside my chest said dont tell me let me guess your name, i muttered something underneath my breath she studied the lines on my face, must admit i felt a little uneasy when she bent down to tie the laces of my shoe......tangled up in blue"

I've been obsessing over this song lately. I need to learn to play this. Love the song. Blood on the Tracks is one of his best

It's definitely one of my favorites. I could easily see it being in my top five consistently and even being my favorite sometimes. And TOOM is my favorite album. I mean a '97 album is my favorite out of all of that amazing material. I can't wait for his next album.
